Is there any chance I can get a temp admin account on your site to apply a hotfix to ensure that the fix I’m working on will work as expected?

ParticipantOk… I’ll set it up in the morning. However , I will need to know where you are applying the fix and whether you back it out. I’ll send you credentials privately tomorrow. Thanks.

The edit I’m making are to two files:
../wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/class.retrieve.php../wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/shortcode/shortcode.php
In the
class.retrieve.phpfile I’m going to add the capability for users with the Edit Moderated capability to queryapprovedandpendingentries. Currently they are only permitted to queryapprovedentries. In order for users to edit their entry while in the moderation queue, they need to be able to querypendingentries. In the
class.shortcode.phpfile, I’m changing the query args to includepending. I’m also adding a message stating that their entry is being held for moderation but they can can make additional changes.Really the two tweaks are very minor. Much simply to fix than I was originally thinking.

I was successfully able to make two edits without getting you are not authorized error message.
One other usability issue remains though…
This will have to be addressed in Link.
Since the entry is in the mod queue, it is no longer visible which means there is no apparent way to edit the entry any longer until the entry is approved. The user can edit an entry as many times as they want but when they navigate away from the edit page, there are no links back to it because it is no longer shown in the results.
What I’ll need to do is add a list action to Link for “Edit My Entry”, which was already on my to do.
Any way the bug with the error message has been fixed. I’ll be attempting to release it today. If not today, definitely tomorrow.
