Maybe you have something that is installed that automatically unzips files after they are downloaded. Back to the error message.
WordPress can not install a plugin if a folder that it is trying to install it to already exists.
To get past this, you need to delete the existing folder. According to the error message it is here:
../wp-content/plugins/connections-csv/
You delete this folder by logging into your site via FTP.
After you delete this folder WordPress will be able to install the plugin.
Hope that helps!
Hey Steve,
I forwarded your comment about deleting this folder to my developer. He is not very familiar with connections, other than my site. He is concerned with possible site corruption. Is there any chance of something like that happening? He is just wary about deleting anything in the ftp without full knowledge.
Jerry
Any thoughts on the above?
@ gerald
I do not understand what is meant by full knowledge. My previous reply gave the reason why for the error and the solution to fix it. I’m not certain what other info that is needed or you’re looking for to fulfill the knowledge that you want.
Considering my previous experience, I think he is being overly cautious. Don’t shoot the messenger.
@ gerald
Ok, I think I understand. Deleting that specific folder is safe. And it will then allow WP to install the plugin.
Thanks for everything. I hate to be such a pain.
