ParticipantI need to transfer a directory we have on our current site to our new site in development.
For some reason, our install has stopped receiving notifications of plugin updates and forcing the updates doesn’t work. I have tried manually uploading the newest version via ftp and it slows the site down to a crawl and then drops it completely. I then have to replace the new version with my back-up of the current version to get the site back-up.
I do get the notification to update the database, but I fear there may be no going back and it will break the site.
The current version is Version 0.7.9.3, which doesn’t appear to have the CSV export feature.
I’ve purchased all the bells and whistles on both the old site and the new site for the plugin, but I need a way to get the information from one to the other.

That’s a pretty old version you have running… you are going to have to update the old site to get the data into the new.
On the old site, do a database and file backup, deactivate all plugins except Connections and then update Connections. Let Connections do the db update. Now you’ll have access to the CSV Export tool which can be used to create a CSV file which you can import on the new site.
Hope this helps, let me know.

ParticipantI managed to get the updated plugin version to work long enough to export the CSV.
Now, I’m getting a security error when I try to upload the CSV. Any ideas?

ParticipantHere’s the csv if that’s helpful.

What the security error? Try renaming the file from
.csv
to .txt`.11/06/2017 at 4:15 pm #440325Ryan Lanigan
ParticipantERROR: Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.
I tried changing to .txt and got the same message.

ParticipantThe new site is being hosted on WP Engine if that’s pertinent.

Nope, that’s not pertinent. Lots of users use WPE. The error you are receving is a WP error message, not one from Connections which is why I suggested installing the MIME type plugin:

ParticipantOK. I installed the plugin and ran the file through the debug. It says it should upload fine, but it doesn’t.
