That is more or less the settings I would have expected to see based on your previous replies.
The only change, maybe… I’ve never used WC before, but I’m fairly certain the default role given to a user is “Customer” regardless of the default role set with WordPress > Settings > General > New User Default Role. So, you could, if you wanted set the New User Default Role to Subscriber so you would not have to change the role from Customer to Subscriber unless your “My Account” page is actually a WC customer account registration, then you still would have to change the user’s role after they register.
You could perhaps use the Nav Menu Roles plugin and setup the nav menu link so it is only visible to Subscribers. this plugin does not “protect” the page, it can help with displaying only relevant menu items based on role and other criteria. The protection comes from the role capabilities which you seem to have setup correctly.
Not sure there is anything for me to test as it sounds lie you have it setup correctly.
One settings change you absolutely need to make, enable this option”Don’t show the cached version for logged-in users” on the cache settings page. Otherwise logged in users might not be able to view the directory or you might display the directory to a “Customer” role because it was cached create by a “Subscriber” when they visited the page. This is not a Connections issue … you could also leak my account page to the wrong logged in user.

In regards to string passwords… couldn’t hurt. You would have to test to see if it is compatible with WC. WC may have its on addon to enable such a feature.

With you setup using a Customer and Subscriber role where a member could potentially be both. You might have to use Multiple Roles plugin. I’ve never used it myself but since this is something that WP actually support natively, I image all it does is exposed this functionality in the admin.

GuestThank you Steven! Your suggestion re disabling the cache for logged in users is an excellent point. Having the users setup the way I currently have them I think is best, as we do not want someone who donates $1.00, for example, to then have complete visual access to the directory. Does that makes sense? Yes, the My Account page is a WC creation. Thank you for all of your valuable input. Have an awesome day!

GuestSteven, My first test user (after making a donation), was setup as a ‘customer’, as that was the WP default user setting before I changed it. I also manually changed this user to ‘subscriber’.
I just went back in to make another test donation using the same user account as before, and it appears that WC does not switch the user account back to customer, so that seems good so far :) Your thoughts?
Just came across this article

GuestHere’s a short article from WooCommerce. Looks like the setup might works as planned. Thanks again!

I would expect WC to not switch roles of an existing user… so that make sense to me.
If you switched the user from Customer to Subscriber, can the user still view their order history and edit their account details? The article implies that only the Customer role would have those capabilities any longer.
If the user does not, you could add those capabilities to the Subscriber role using the Capability Manager Enhanced plugin. Or you could assign the user to both roles. Either would work. Welcome to the world of user roles and role capabilities :) Fun, right?

GuestRight?! LOL! In my testing, the (subscriber) user is still able to view their orders and their account info under the WC my account page. Seems to be the same as customer.
