I actually cant think of any plugins installed that have google maps api in them ???? which is really annoying Iv tried what you said but still has the same results.
Any chance I can give you access to the admin to have a look??

Problem solved. Ubermenu also includes the Google Maps API. I turned it off in its settings and everything seems fine now. The reason disabling the Google Maps API in Connections didn’t work is because the version that Ubermenu loaded occurred after if is required by Connections, so Connections would fail to load the maps. At any rate both Ubermenu and Connections will work fine using the version Connections loads
