ParticipantSteve,
The Slim Plus plugin stopped working. I know that we did a recent WP update but don’t know if that is relevant. When we upload images, we get a blank screen at http://www.firstpresmanhattan.com/wp-admin/admin.php?connections_process=true&process=manage&action=update&id=122
./wp-content/plugins/connections/cache/ and ./wp-content/plugins/connections/cache/index.php file permissions both set to:
rwx rw- rwx
Though I don’t know if it is relevant or not, ./wp-content/plugins/connections/cache/index.html is set to rw- r– r–
Earlier we thought Visual Form Builder Pro to be the problem. I can activate or deactivate that plugin and it does not change the outcome as we’re trying to upload images to the directory.
What do you suggest we look at or try?
Thanks.

Sounds as if you’re running out of memory that is allocated to PHP. See this excellent blog post on how to increase it. Which methods that works for you will depend on your web host.
http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/
Let me know if that fixes it for you.

ParticipantHi Steve, I modified the ‘wp-config.php’ file by adding the line:
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
Nothing changed. We still cannot upload image and get a white screen.
The image is named VerllaCoughenour.JPG and is 371KB in file size.
Any next suggestion?
Thanks,
Enrique

Try setting it via the php.ini file for .htaccess and I recommend 128MB which should be plenty of memory for WordPress; 64MB can be a little tight in the admin after you activate a few larger plugins.

ParticipantHi Steve.. just opened php.ini file for this domain. It shows that memory is already set as 128MB:
memory_limit = 128M
Any other suggestion?

What does the memory say on the System widget on the Connections : Dashboard admin page?
Can you install the WordPress System Health plugin? It has a Test Suite tab that will test what the web server is actually permitting for memory. You can actually set it to any value and that is what will be reported, but that may not be what the web host actually allows.

ParticipantSteve, I think this is a symptom of a larger issue. I create submissions on the public site and the page tells me “submission received” however the submission is not visible within the admin site to manage. I’ve tested this with both entries that included and excluded photos and none show up.
Permissions are set as follows:
wp-content: rwx rw- rwx
wp-content/cache/: rwx r-x r-x
wp-content/connection_images/: rwx rw- rwx
wp-content/plugins/connections/: rwx r-x r-x
wp-content/plugins/connections/cache/: rwx rw- rwxI’ll look at the items you reported and post those back momentarily. Thank you.

ParticipantAdmin site is complaining:
NOTICE: Path ../wp-content/plugins/connections/cache does not seem to be writeable.
File permission for that older set at your previous suggestion of:
rwx r-x r-x
checking on the plugin now

ParticipantI changed permissions of ./wp-content/plugins/connections/cache to:
rwx rw- rwx
WP System Health “Test Suite” seems to time out. Trying it again.
I submit a contact from public site without image, it goes into admin site and available for “manage”. when image is included, it does not appear in admin site and not available for “manage”.
I’ll update back as Test Suite information available.
