ParticipantHi,
I purchased the widget pack to use the search feature. Got it working however when I navigate to the directory page it takes a long time to display all lists before you can search or click anywhere on the page. Then I decided it would be better to not display any listings until I search for one, so I following the instructions in the link below and that did not work.
http://connections-pro.com/2015/04/23/quicktip-show-no-entries-until-user-performs-a-search/My site url is: http://staging8.dolphin-it.com/directory/
- How can I speed up the displaying of listings?
- How can I make the link above work so no listings are displayed?
Thanks!

There appears to be some javascript taking a very long time to process the page. If I load the page with javascript disabled the page loads fairly quickly.
My best guess the cause is whatever plugin you are using for the maps. I’m guessing it is trying to init all those maps on the page at the same time.
If you want maps and quicker loading I would suggest the cMap template.
The script to not display results until a search is performed was designed for the premium templates, not the default template. That said, I can not think of a reason off the top of my head why it would not work in your use case.
The most common error is that the code snippet it not activated. Double check to make sure you’ve activated the code snippet. The second most common reason is a copy/past error. Try copy/pasting the the code again. The third most common issue is that the shortcode option is not added to the existing shortcode. double check that you’ve added the shortcode option.
Hope that helps! Let me know.

Looks like it was working fine. The theme was hiding the search form. I made a small tweak to for the theme to show the search form so you can now see it.
Hope that helps!
