GuestThanks for the response on the previous question regarding vcard imports.
I’m also wondering if there a way to easily display entries in groups by a category, or even department, on the directory page?
Or is this something I would have to do with a custom template? If so, how would I achieve this?
For example:
Department 1- entry 1
- entry 2
- entry 3
Department 2
- entry 4
- entry 5
- entry 6
… etc.
Much appreciated if you could help!

Connections does not yet support grouping. The closest you can get is putting the shortcode on the same page, once for each group filtered by the group you want to display. For categories, you would use the category shortcode option. For department, you would use the department filter.
Hope that helps.

GuestThanks Steven.
I did try that, and it seemed to solve my issue at first, but when viewing an individual listings their information then showed up multiple times.
If you had any idea how I could fix that, this would be a a good solution.

Sorry, I should have added that’ll you have to turn off the links to the individual pages too. This can be done on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tab.

GuestHi Steven,
Firstly – love the Connections plugin – it has really added value to our non-profit association website.
I have attempted to add the shortcode to a page twice so as to show two different categories as a “group” ie Chairpersons and Committee Members.
The first shortcode results in the entries appearing correctly with the cMap template I am using (ie name, details, expandable map/bio/notes links, picture etc) – but the second shortcode for a different category only shows the person’s position and company name with no other info.
When I remove the first shortcode the second one on the page immediately appears correctly.
Here is the page I am referring to: http://erba.com.au/about-erba/our-committee/
How can I have both appearing correctly on the page (as per the first shortcode under Chairperson).
Note: I did try unselecting the links settings in the Advanced tab as per your advice above but it did not make any difference to the display.
Thanks for your time in responding. CB

You need to update cMap from version 2.1 to 3.0.3. You can download it from your Purchase History. The method for installing templates has changed so be sure to following the installation/update instructions carefully.
That should fix it up.
