GuestI have ROT13 plugin activated with my Pro Pack and using the tile plus template.
If I comment out this line in class.entry-output.php my email is visible
$block = apply_filters( ‘cn_output_email_addresses’, $block, $addresses, $this, $atts );
Otherwise I have no email address. What am I missing? (I need to display the email adddress)
Thanks

Sounds like you have the Contact extension installed and activated. This extension, by design, removes the display of the addresses. If you need the email addresses to show, I suggest deactivating Contact.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantMy understanding was that the Forms plugin allows people to add their information to the database which is then approved by an administrator. Or are the Content Blocks only for the entry form? If I select
Is it possible to use both the Tiles-Plus template and use the ROT 13 extension and have the email addresses show? If not, do you have a recommendation for a different input form for users to add themselves to the Connections database? We are wanting to have the users enter information into the database instead of doing it manually from an email form.
Otherwise I guess the Contact plugin is not what we’re looking for. I thought email addresses were encrypted but not made invisible.

re: My understanding was that the Forms plugin allows people to add their information to the database which is then approved by an administrator.
Correct.
re: Or are the Content Blocks only for the entry form? If I select
Sorry, I am not following… can you give me details?
re: Is it possible to use both the Tiles-Plus template and use the ROT 13 extension and have the email addresses show?
Yep, absolutely.
re: I guess the Contact plugin is not what we’re looking for. I thought email addresses were encrypted but not made invisible.
The Contact extension was created due to the large number of requests to have a contact form so the email addresses were not made publically available which is why it suppresses them. If you need them to be public but want to prevent bots from scraping them, then ROT13 is the way to go … you do not really need a contact form if you make the email address public… the user can simply click on it which will open their email client app and send them an email that way.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantFirst of all Steven, thanks for your great support and understanding of how all this works. Secondly, I found out this morning someone else on staff created a second username of NCBadmin <at> nevadacountybar.com and purchased additional plugins and extensions and so these purchases aren’t in the same account as support <at> nevadacountybar.com where I first ordered the Tile-Plus template. Is it possible to combine the two accounts? I apologize if this isn’t the best way to do this. Thirdly, in answer to your response, I don’t see how to use the Forms extension/plugin for a new user to enter new data to the database. Is this possible? Or is it not advisable? The way email addresses are handled (I’ve had to deal with tech support issues about this with this group) doesn’t work if the user has a browser email account like gmail or yahoo. Any suggestions? Of course they can copy and paste it. This is getting a little heady for me. I apologize for that.

re: Is it possible to combine the two accounts?
I can transfer the purchase from one to the other… which way should it go?
re: I don’t see how to use the Forms extension/plugin for a new user to enter new data to the database. Is this possible? Or is it not advisable?
When you state “user” it that meant that so a single user can not only add their data but also maintain it? If so, you’ll need the Link extension.
To set this up, follow the Link installation instructions.
And follow the Form installation instructions. The important bit here is the add sumit entry link.
re: doesn’t work if the user has a browser email account like gmail or yahoo
Guess that is true under those scenarios… even still, using Chrome, clicking on an email will open a compose new message window effectively acting like a native app. I know in Win10, clicking an email link in IE/Edge I’m asked if I want to open Chrome which then open a new compose message window. Honestly though, not quite sure how it works with Yahoo / older browsers / other browsers… I’m guessing copy/paste would be the only option.

ParticipantPlease make them both under support <at> Thank you.
I will look at the link extension. For now we just want them to be able to enter their data, not maintain it. Updating their info using Link may come in the next round.
Thank you
