ParticipantHi Steven – I purchased bundles of templates and plugins in 2015 and renewed the support in 2016 but haven’t been doing much with the product for a while. I’m now looking at expanding the directory I set up on one of my sites, and would like to know what I need to buy in order to continue to use Connections Pro and get support. I’m also not sure where I stand in terms of site licenses; I’m using your tools on two separate sites. Let me know…thanks!!

To continue support, you can renew your license from you purchase history page under the Licenses tab. For a second site, you would need a second license. Depending on what extensions/templates you are using it could be less expensive to buy just what you need OR if you are using a lot of the items it could be less expensive to renew and then upgrade to the 1-5 site licenses.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantHi Steven –
Thanks for your quick reply. I can see that it would be $59.99 to renew the Pro Pack license. I’ve been looking around for info on your multi-site licenses but don’t see where this is posted; can you tell me what an upgrade would cost?
In fact, I don’t see Pro Pack listed anywhere…frankly it’s confusing. I can see lots of individual items for sale, but it seems like I have to open up every single menu item to see what they do and whether they would be useful.
Suggestion: create an overview page that briefly describes each of the items you offer, with a screenshot if appropriate, along with costs and links to the menu pages. Perhaps you already have this – but I couldn’t see it anywhere.
One of the reasons I went for the Pro Pack originally was to get access to everything, so I could test things out and see what worked.
Is the Pro Pack still for sale? And does it give a license for all of your templates and add-ons? That’s what I want, so I don’t have to choose!

RE: I don’t see Pro Pack listed anywhere
It is shown at the top of these two pages with the other bundle options and their multiple site license purchase options:
I put them on the two landing pages to help make them a bit more obvious, not sure where else I could put them.
The templates page and the extension pages are landing pages I do try to give a short desc on what they offer so you do not have to open each item. I have recently put some work into the extension descriptions to make them more clear. The templates landing page, I admit, does need more work as I could add a little thumb of the template itself and work on the short description vs using a truncated version of the full description.
A few times a year I get somewhat similar feedback due to the two landing pages not being found. I’m not actually sure how I could make them more available. They are the first two items on the main nav. If you could let me know what would have helped you find them better, I would truly appreciate it!

ParticipantThanks Steven!
The reason I didn’t see them is that I hovered over eacho of the menu items Templates and Extensions and saw the individual items listed in the drop-down menu, but didn’t think to click on the menu title. As you know, on most computer apps the menu title isn’t clickable, only the drop-down items; in WordPress it is clickable but not at all obvious.
I suggest that you simply add an item at the top of the drop-down list that says Bundles. That way it will be more obvious at first glance.
Back to the question at hand – I can see now the $149.99 option for a Pro-Pack for 1-5 sites, but I don’t see an upgrade or renewal option.
I added the 1-5 site Pro Pack to my cart, then tried to enter my old license number cec4c36d446cd470a25bffcbec104251 into the renewal code field, however it came up with an odd error message:

Additionally, a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

ParticipantSteven – What is the best way to proceed? Should I simply renew my single site Pro Pack license with the renewal discount, then look for an option to upgrade to the 1-5 Site Pro Pack license?

Apologies! I had replied yesterday, but I most not have hit submit…
Short version, yes, renew so you get the discount and then upgrade. The upgrade fee will be full price less the purchase price of the item being upgraded from.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantHey Steven – Finally getting back to this!
I just purchased the renewal, then the upgrade, and added my second site to the license manager page (archicaduser.com). Now I feel “legit” and will go ahead with setting up the directory for this second site.
There are a couple of curious things that I want to make sure are set up properly.
I noticed that in my other site that Connections > Settings has a Licenses section, while on the newer site it does not.
On the other site in the plugins section it shows the advisory message “License is valid and you are receiving updates. Your support license key will expire on January 24th 2019.” but only for Connections Form and not for the main Connections Business Directory plugin nor for any of the other plugins or templates.
On the newer site, I’m not seeing that advisory message at all.
Regardless of the advisory messages, how can I verify if I have the latest version of each of these plugins and templates? I can see a version number in the WordPress Plugins page (for example, Slim Plus shows version 1.0.2) but I don’t see anywhere on your site (or in the download links or files) that shows what is actually the latest version of each file. I want to make sure I’ve got everything up to date…
I’ll open a separate ticket for some “how to” questions, and allow this one to stay focused on licensing and updating questions. Thanks again for your great work and dedicated support!

ParticipantSteven –
I figured out most of this after realizing that the plugins etc. that I had installed on this archicaduser site were most likely all out of date; I deactivated and deleted them one by one, then uploaded, activated and licensed the new versions. So now I have everything up to date on that site, with a Licenses section that shows the plugins that I’ve installed, and corresponding notices about valid licenses that will receive updates.
One small suggestion: note the current/latest version number of all of your plugins somewhere on your site or in the license section of the user profile, so that one can see if a site is up to date. I know that the admin auto-update should show this info, but in my case (with old plugins) it showed the old version numbers, but no indication that they were out of date.
I’m going to close this ticket, as I don’t need further assistance with licensing and updating at this time.

I know you’ve figured this out, but I thought I’d still take the time to answer the questions just incase someone else comes here seeking the same info.
RE: I noticed that in my other site that Connections > Settings has a Licenses section, while on the newer site it does not.
The License tab will only display when there is an add on which requires one. All the current releases of all the add ons sold on this site have required them for about 4 years.
RE: in the plugins section it shows the advisory message “License is valid and you are receiving updates. Your support license key will expire on January 24th 2019.” but only for Connections Form and not for the main Connections Business Directory
The core “Connections Business Directory” is free and does not require a license. This has always been. I work in the freemium model where the core product is free and the addons to extend core functionality come as commercial/premium add on.
RE: nor for any of the other plugins or templates.
The add ons are likely just old enough where they did not originally have a license key.
RE: how can I verify if I have the latest version of each of these plugins and templates? This can be found in two locations:
- On each individual product page. For example, on the Slim Plus page, in the sidebar under Template Info it displays the current version which is 2.0.1.
- If you navigate to your purchase history page and click the Downloads tab. The current version of every one of your downloads will be displayed there.
Hope this helps!
