ParticipantHi Steve,
Here’s the situation, please tell me if it can be done:
USER 1 – Full Admin
USER 2 – FUll Admin (minus ability to change plugins and settings)
OTHER USERS – Can only create/ edit their own entryThe site has form installed. I want users 1 and 2 to be able to edit all of the entries. I want all other users to only be able to create or edit their own entries.
I am using user role editor (WP plugin) to create custom roles. User 2 is a “Moderator” but basically can do anything the admin can. All other users are “Contributors” and I am trying to work through how to set up their permissions correctly.
I can only get it so that they can either edit everything, or nothing. With “Manage” permission disabled they can see the add entry link, and they can get to the form, but clicking submit gives an error on the form. Enabling the “Manage” permission lets them create their entry, but they can also edit anyone else’s.
Thanks,
MikeAttachments:

Keymaster@ Mike
USER 1 and 2 are easy, they should have the exact same capabilities assigned, all of them.
OTHER USERS should have only the add entry, edit entry, view public and view private (optional) capabilities assigned.
You mention having Form installed, but not Link. In order to allow users to edit their own entry, you need the Link extension.
Hope that helps! Let me know.

ParticipantYep, I forgot to mention Link. I am still getting the error “An error adding entry has occurred.”
It shows me the form, and when I click submit it first says “Please wait, your submission is being processed.” and it appears to be working. But then I get the error message.
I have been going through the settings and your extensive documentation, but I’m coming up empty handed.
Registration on the site is open right now. When a new user is added, they are automatically the equivalent of “OTHER USERS”.
