re: Yes, the page renders properly with Enhanced Categories deactivated. But I would like to be able to list the categories on the page.
Great that helps narrow down the cause. Now to figure out why that is causing an error…
Can you attach a screenshot of the Fred entry, specifically the category metabox in the admin when editing the entry?
re: Actually, although the page displays correctly now since deactivating the Enhanced Categories, that error message has not gone away.
Are you certain you are not looking at the old errors in the log? Can you double check the timestamps? Or, better yet, just delete the error log (it’ll recreate automatically as needed) and then visit the page a few times? Do the errors show?
It should not be possible to trigger that section of the code unless Enhance Categories is activated.
If you are still seeing errors, give me a temp admin account and FTP login and I’ll debug this much closer. That’ll actually be the quickest way to resolve this. The details can be posted here as a private reply.

The admin login does not seem to work and the FTP login seems to be missing the username.
The error messages look to be the old ones, prior to disabling Enhanced Categories. Which is good, and, expected.
When I get access, I will definitely debug and resolve the issue quickly. You should definitely be able to use the extension with no errors. I’m not sot sure why the error is happening for you since I can not replicate it, see no obvious reason for it and no one else has yet run into the issue.

re: Now I have reactivated the Enhanced Categories extension and entries display on the page when a category is chosen
What have you changed now so it works? Now that is is working I will not be able to find and correct the bug.
re: if I go back to View All only the names display, all in one row.
Yep, that looks right. It is a responsive columnar list. It has a max of 4 columns, min of 1. The narrower the screen the fewer columns. Add more entries…

Great that it working now! Unfortunate that I was not able to see the cause of the original error. If you run into the issue again, please let me know, I’ll definitely want to look into it to found the source of the error and fix it.
