GuestHi Steven!
I was looking for a tool to show a little database at my (just planned) web page and found your very neat plugin.
I like to ask, if it is possible to use Connections for this aim:
My page is a local portal page, where you can find retail shops (company name, logo, adress,…). Each shop has a list of “brands”, which they sell. So you should search for the shop name and get a list of shops with this name (should be simple with Connections). And also you should search for the brand name and get a list of shops, which sell this brand (each entry links to the shop entry detail page).
Can your plugin do this?
How much does it cost, if you would build me such a custom template?
Thanks for your answer,

Yes, this does not sound like an issue. YOu can test and play with yourself without any purchase on the Connections : Manage admin page.
- Add a few shops [Organizations].
- Add their brands to either the bio or notes section.
- Test the searches to see if the results are to your liking.
If the tests are to you liking all you need minimally is a template which supports search. The cMap template is the most common for your usage scenario.
Hope that helps!

GuestThanks for your reply.
Your soulution works for a keyword search.
I’m missing a “list of brands”, where brands are listed and each brand phrase is linked to a list of shops, which sell the brand.
This is not possible, if I put the brand names into the notes section of the shop.Do you have a soulution for that?

You can create two top level (root parent) categories. One for “Shops” or whatever is applicable in this case and put all the shop categories under it. The second top level category would be “Brands”.
You can then use a template like cMap. This would allow the user to filter the results by shop categories or select which brand they are interested and see a the shop results filtered by the selected brand.
Hope that helps.
