GuestERROR: Path ../wp-content/connection_images does not seem to exist. Please try deactivating and reactivating Connections.
ERROR: Path ../wp-content/connections_templates does not seem to exist. Please try deactivating and reactivating Connections.
ERROR: Path ../wp-content/plugins/connections/cache does not seem to be writeable.
I’m getting the above error messages when I try to activate Connections. How can I resolve this.

You server permission are preventing Connections from automatically setting the permission on these folders so you have to set them manually. They should be set to 0755. If that does not work, try 0767.

GuestThanks. Error message 3 has been resolved. However the first 2 error messages persist. I have tried deactivating and deactivating a number of times and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin also.

Did you try manually creating the folders and then setting the permissions?

GuestThanks again.
I have now created 2 folders and the error messages have gone. Naturally both folders are now empty. Is this correct or is there anything which needs to be uploaded to them?

Yes that is correct. The connection_images folder will be empty until you start uploading images/logos. And the connections_templates will be empty until/if you purchase and install a premium template [for now, this’ll be changing very soon].

GuestPrivate company Intranet behind firewall so you cannot access, sorry.
Getting following errors after updating to latest WP 3.5.1 and then updating Connections:
NOTICE: Path ../wp-content/connection_images does not seem to be writeable.
NOTICE: Path ../wp-content/connections_templates does not seem to be writeable.
NOTICE: Path ../wp-content/plugins/connections/cache does not seem to be writeable.
We have an existing FULL directory so not sure I want to delete the folders and start again by re-creating.
Any suggestions?

GuestI am trying to install Connections in a new WP site. I also purchased your Market template.
I have the same problem with the install as above.
I fixed the cache problem
I tried your suggestions to place a new template directory, but I get php errors.
I added an images directory but it had to be added OUTSIDE the Connections plugin directory. I had to name it connections_images
I am having the same problem with your template directory. I had to name that connections_templates.
When I try to install Market it does not install in the template directory.
I am using WP version 3.5.2
The temporary link to the new site is http://inbusinessnet.com/~networki/
I really wanted to use your plugin, but. . . I need a fix that works.
Thanks

Both the
connection_images
andconnections_templates
folders are outside the plugin directory. If they were within the plugin directory, they would be delted by WordPress during an upgrade. The correct paths are:
../wp-content/connection_images
../wp-content/connections_templates
The
cache
folder is within the plugin directory because it does not matter if the cache is deleted. The templates are now full fledge plugins so they will no longer be installed in the
connections_templates
. Please follow the template installation instructions. After you install the Market template, the files will be in the../wp-content/plugins/market
folder.I’ve looked at the site and it does seem everything is installed fine sure I’m not sure what the installation issue that you’re having is. Could you give more detail?
On item I do see is a layout issue which will resolve itself as soon as you add a couple categories.
