GuestI would like to use the two date fields in Forms. One for entered date and another for expiration date. I’ve tried to set dates to ‘TRUE’ but not working.
Can I change the name of dates.
Thanks,
Nancy

Currently Form only supports the anniversary and birthday date types. Attempting to set true for the other date types will not have an effect because they would not be valid options. You could change the names, but, they would still be inserted as anniversary or birthday.
I hope that helps clarify the functionality.

GuestSorry for a second question. You recommended the use of wordpress extension that would replace labels. Or was that only a dream. I can’t find the response.

I posted this in another thread, perhaps this is what you saw, yes?
To change strings within Connections and Link:
Install the Say What? plugin.
It’ll add a new Text Changes menu item. Click Add New, enter the string exactly as shown in Connections, enter connections [notice the lack of capitalization, that's important!] as the domain and then enter your new text.
The great thing about using this plugin is that it will be update safe and you can use it on any other plugin that has been properly internationalized.
NOTE: I believe there are some strings in Link which this will not work.
You can also use Say What? with Form, but you would use connections_form as the domain.
I hope that helps!

GuestThank you! I will give it a try. Is it possible to have a search for the whole site.

What do you mean by whole site search? Integrated with the core WordPress search, sorry no, there is not a way to commingle results from Connections and post search results.

GuestSay What. Very simple and does exactly what it says it. Replace birthday with Date Added. Replaced ‘Department’ with ‘Volunteer’..
Thank you so much.
I still would like some commingling. is that a social term or something more technical.

No, not a social or technical word; it just means mixing.

ParticipantSteven, We want to allow organizations to enter a date in the form. We were thinking of using the SayWhat plugin to change the title to “Date Opened” so they could enter in a start of business date.
http://beta.berkeleycounty.org/membership/online-application/
But on the form, I just get the message “Field not available for this entry type.” I have the “birthday” field set to true… but I’m thinking that the birthday and anniversary fields are only valid for individuals? So is there a way to make them valid for organizations?
[connections_form default_type='organization' logo='TRUE' birthday='TRUE' photo='FALSE']

This is doable, but you’d have to edit the
cn-form-user.js
file.Just remove all the instances of:
$('.celebrate').slideDown(); $('.celebrate-disabled').slideUp();
Hope that helps.
