It is hard to tell what error might be. The simply stop rendering after the nav bar code, much before Connections is even rendered. It’s possible that the same issue affecting Wolfgang is also affecting you. Another possibility is the memory allocated to PHP is being exhausted.
I will be releasing version 8.6.1 very shortly which will fix Wolfgang’s error. let me know if the issue persists after the update. If it does, then you might have to increase the memory allocated to PHP a little.

ParticipantI also updated, but not until today (Tuesday, March 28) and I’m getting this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DOUBLE_CAST in /home/content/50/12054650/html/wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/entry/class.entry-actions.php on line 1019.
I deleted the plugin by FTP and reinstalled it but got the same error. I have to update the website, so I’m going to delete the plugin again, but I’ll need to put it back. The problem seems to only effect the admin area. When the plugin is installed the directory works just fine. So, I will put it back after I update the website, but I would like to fix this issue–I recognize that it’s talking about the two instances of (float) on that line, but it seems like both need to be there and I don’t know enough about PHP to know what to do next.
What should I do?
Thank you!

No wonder I’m pulling my hair out right now… wp.org is literally sending out the wrong version as updates. Seems they are broken right now, a little, because on the plugin page for Connections on wp.org, the download button is downloading an even older version.
I’m going to be releasing version 8.6.1 within a few minutes. Assuming wp.org gets its act together I suspect the issue will go away.

KeymasterAll…
It seems wp.org is in the middle of a major update. I can only guess this is the cause of the incorrect updated (an old one from Friday) is being pushed as the most current update … it is not, yesterdays is. Even the download link on the Connections wp.org plugins page is downloading an even older version.
I did push out 8.6.1 for the latest update which I believe will fix the issue you all are experiencing but the best I can tell wp.org has not yet acknowledged the new version.
Here is a direct download link for 8.6.1, please try installing this version:

ParticipantRight! That’s sorted out my card entries, thanks Steve!
Now I still have to fathom the categories display… back to work.
Cheers me dear! :)
You’re the best!
Kind regards.

ParticipantThank you for all you’re doing to try to fix this. I downloaded 8.6.1 using the link you provided and installed it, but unfortunately I still can’t get the page to load.
Just to test, I removed the [connections] shortcode and tried the page and it loaded fine. When I put the shortcode back, the page locks up – so something in the code is hanging it up.

ParticipantThank you Steve, I installed the 8.6.1 and everything is working fine, including my extension. Yay! I hope everyone else is able to get theirs working.
Thanks again,

ParticipantOur host confirmed that the PHP memory is being exhausted. Any suggestions on what the allocation should be? Would upgrading to 7.0 help?
