re: CVS Import will have an update release at the same time to support the
ability of plugins that add custom fields to also extend the import
importing into those custom fields from a CSV file.
Yep, this happened… the key in the quote is extend the import. The necessary action/filter hook are available. A dev can create an extension that adds custom fields and they can also extend the the csv import to permit importing data into their custom fields. I several that have done exactly that… they actually helped testing so I know that it would work correctly. In that thread you’ll also see that I stated that there was not going to be a point and click way to create custom fields with the release of .8 that that feature would likely come as an extension.
re: Is there any way at all, I can somehow get CSV import to import into my custom fields
There is, by extending the the csv import as mention in my previous answer. Unless you know PHP, you’re going to need a dev.03/19/2015 at 2:15 am #323523Anders
ParticipantThis is real setback for me and means that I have to go searching for another plugin to do the job. A really, really bad thing.
Is there any way you could point me to how to add php to include the custom fields I have included in the posts (again, it’s only text fields) when importing csv?
I can see that the class.entry-import-csv.php includes lines like:
// Set the notes. if ( isset( $row->notes ) && ! empty( $row->notes ) ) $entry->setNotes( $row->notes );So, could it be a matter of including a couple of new lines with the name of the new custom fields?
Maybe you have the time to guide me? (What would that cost?) Otherwise, I will need to abandon Connections and serach for another plugin. It’s smoething I really don’t want to do….

ParticipantCould I use the method descibed here?

Do you think you could help me tweaking this in order to work with the normal extra text fields I have inserted?
