ParticipantI am having the same problem as others, where the complete list isn’t importing when I scale it down, (only 33 of 200), and I also get the following error message when trying to import the entire 1063 entries:
“Request Entity Too Large The requested resource /wp-admin/admin.php does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.”
I changed the php.ini file per your specs on the FAQ (the .htaccess file gave me a 500 error when I tried to change it), and I still get this error above or missing entries.
Could I get a copy of your Alpha version? I don’t need the social media maps. My email is correct on my account, but let me know if you need it again.
I need to launch this site soon, so any help you might have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I just replied to the comments you left here…
I emailed you a copy of the CSV Import Alpha. Let me know if that resolves it for you.
Let continue the conversation here in this support forum thread rather than in the comments. Many thanks!

GuestThanks for the Alpha importer! I tried it with both a .csv and .txt file, and it gives me an error message after the map screen. So it doesn’t even get to the data parse screen, which the older version did.
Here is the error: “The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log.”
I am able to load about 200 at a time correctly with the old plug-in, so unless you have a fix for this, I’ll probably use the old plug in, and divide the file up into pieces and load them one at a time.
Let me know, and thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I can’t imagine what the error would be. Even though it is alpha it has been tested quite extensively with over a hundred thousand imports total across many users with different hosts.
Can I get a copy of your CSV for a test? You have to log in and you’ll be able to attach it to this forum post. You user/pass will be the same as the one you entered when making the purchase.

Can I get a screen capture showing the mapping that you’re using?

Oh, I think I know… it’s memory related. I was able to import all 1000+ using the following PHP settings:
PHP Memory Limit : 256M PHP Max Upload Size : 64M PHP Max Post Size : 8M PHP Max Script Execute Time : 90sYou would make the changes to your
php.inifile. If your host does not allow access to thephp.inifile you should be able to make the changes using the.htaccessfile.After you make the Changes, it can take a while to import all 1000+. I tested using Chrome. Chrome did ask if I wanted to kill the tab to which I said wait. I suggest doing the same … the tab will continue to spin as long the impor is processing. After the import is complete you should get a success message but it possible WP will toss you to a 404 page.
Oh, I suggest pulling the orgs into a separate CSV and importing that separately because there seems to be a bug in the alpha where they will still be imported as individuals. I’m a little surprised that hasn’t been noticed before now.

ParticipantHi again,
Thanks for the help. I tried importing just the Organizations (only 30 entries) and it took them, but as you said, didn’t recognize them as organizations. Then I tried the 1,000 entry list and after a few minutes I got the same error as before (500 Internal Server Error). I need to get this done, so I think I’m going to start over with the old plugin and just divide up the files into six groups of +/-200 — unless you have another suggestion. It’s not ideal, but I think it’ll work.

ParticipantWell, now back to the original plug-in, and the php.ini I increased, that I had working with 200 files, it’s now only taking 33 of them. When I cut the list down to 100, it only took 32. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
