Bugle
GuestResponsive Theme – Connections Plugin.
Plugin menu – “Roles”
If you tick (add entry) and (edit entry) this will only allow the (add entry) function not the (edit entry) function.
Didn’t work at contributor level, so I tried it at author level and the same problem exists there.

Darn, you might not be able to see the screenshot. The activated capabilities should be at least the following:
- View Admin Menu
- View List (Manage)
- Add Entry
- Edit Entry

GuestI can’t access your screen shot, as I don’t have an account. I’ve tried to use your vendor registration http://connections-pro.com/vendor-registration/ but the registration form shows as a short code, not a link to the form.
Yes, I found that the configuration you have shown allows any user to access the user list and then edit all profiles.
That to me is to much freedom of access for a contributor and I don’t want to be moderating every change.
I may be using connections in a different way than you intended where I want a user to be responsible for their own profile rather than having a profile manager looking after the list of entries.
Under the current configuration ticking only:
•View Admin Menu
•Add Entry
•Edit Entry
allows a user to make many entries but not edit anything. It was at this point I was anticipating something was going wrong.
My expectation when I tried this was that it would allow a contributor to add an entry and edit their entry only. Is it possible to use Connections in this way, so that you can have community groups with users who can manage and regularly update their profiles?

I would add to the above post:
Looking at Connections : Settings – that certainly gives the impression that the plugin would operate as I am trying to use it.

I can not seem to be able to replicate this…
Sometimes other plugins can mess up the roles and capabilities Connections adds (they’ll mess up the custom roles and capabilities of other plugins too).
Try resetting all the role capabilities and then reset the options.
Now, as for allowing a user to edit their own entry … you need Link and (optionally) Form.
I hope that helps!
