ParticipantI installed cMap, Widget Pack, SiteShot and ROT13 Email Encryption and the widget pack when activated in wordpress 2017 theme doesn’t allow me to customize the theme.

I just installed Twenty Seventeen and I was able to use the Customizer to change the theme settings without issue.
My suggestion is to try to increase the memory allocated to PHP. Customizer required quite a bit a memory so perhaps you are exhausting the memory which has been allocated to PHP.
Here’s an excellent blog post which covers several methods. I suggest starting at the top and working your way down the list. The method that will work depends entirely on the web host. Each host is configured differently so one method may not work but another will.

Hope this helps! Let me know.

Participantmemory_limit is set at 128mb. Even with the rest of the plug in deactivated the widgets plug in locks up the customizer. Same thing with the WordPress 2016 theme. I deleted the plug in and reinstalled, still locks up.

I still suspect the memory is the issue. Can I please get a WP admin login so I can investigate further? Login details can be posted here as a private reply.

I logged in, activated the Connections Widgets and navigated to the Customizer and it loaded just fine. Perhaps we are not on the same page. Could you give me the exact steps need/links clicked so I can reproduce?

ParticipantI’m don’t know if you fixed something or not, but I logged-on as usual and as of this moment everything seems to be working. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Nope, I didn’t do a thing. I’ll take an easy fix like this any day :)
Let me know if the issue pops up again.

ParticipantI deleted my old web site and set-up a new one using Twenty Seventeen as before, same problem with everything as last year! When everything is activated doesn’t allow me to customize the theme. Plus the directory page is not right. I followed the step by step set-up for everything. Please advise, Thanks
