ParticipantHello,
We have installed Connections on our multisite as per your instructions (Not “Network Activated”, but activated on each network site)
Basically we have 1 parent organisation and 6 child organisations. So we need to show the same members across multiple sites – without creating/updating a profile for them 6 times.
How can the “Connections” plugin of one site “see” the contact persons we have added on other sites. i.e. one central respository of contact persons?
Thanks and best wishes,
Graham

Activate Connections on the primary site. Add your shared entries there. Now add
define( 'CN_MULTISITE_ENABLED', FALSE );
to yourwp-config.php
. NOTE< you will lose any data entered on your subsites because Connections will only read/write to the primary site db tables.Hope that helps, let me know.

ParticipantHi Steven,
That worked great thank you!
We’ve made some styling tweaks to the template on the primary site.
Is there a way to quickly export/import this to the subsites? (Rather than having to do it manually through Templates -> Customise, 6 times)
Many thanks
Graham

Participant(Or duplicate out the template, make our tweaks and then upload & apply it to each subsite as a “new” template?) Thanks

Go to the Connections : Tools admin page and export the settings. You can then import the settings on your subsites. Settings changed in the Template Customizer for templates come along for the ride :)
Great to hear it working for you.

ParticipantHi Steven,
This worked partially – we did the export, but on import, we get the error:
Warning: array_key_exists(): The first argument should be either a string or an integer in /home/cpmr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/settings/class.settings.php on line 1806″Settings have been imported.”
and not all of the settings seem to copy in.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Greg

Hmmm. I can not replicate the error… though I did find a bug. In version 8.5.8 I was not enqueuing the javascript on that settings import/export but that did not cause an error and the settings still exported/imported fine when I just now tested it again.
One thought. Did you set the default country and state on the General tab on the Connections : Settings admin page? If, not, try setting it and then export and import again. Just a guess really… because the error reported is happening when setting the the country.

ParticipantHi Steven,
Yup, made sure all the settings were matched up, Got the same error
Warning: array_key_exists(): The first argument should be either a string or an integer in /home/cpmr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/settings/class.settings.php on line 1806
“Settings have been imported.”Furthermore, in trying to manually customise the template settings in the sub sites, the standard WordPress customiser opens, but does not load your plugin – it just stops at the Loading screen; the Connections cannot be seen. (screenshot attached)
So, not only can we not import the appearance automatically, we can’t even edit it manually either. Please advise as we must launch this site in the next couple days.
Thanks very much.
Greg

To debug this further and provide a fix, I would need a temp WP super admin account and and an FTP login. This can be posted here as a private reply.
