ParticipantI have now successfully translated my labels using Say What. However, there are a few more places, I can’t figure out how to translate:
1) The dropdown menu: Select Category + Show All Categories
2) I have added
$entry->getCategoryBlock( array(‘separator’ => ‘, ‘, ‘before’ => ”,
‘after’ => ”) );to card-php in order to show the category within the card. This now reads: Categories: xxx. I would like to translate ‘Categories’ as well.
So, how can I accomplish this? Using POedit?

Those two particular strings are template specific and can be translated using the shortcode options for the template you are using. Here’s the link to the FAQ. The two specific options are
str_select=
andstr_select_all
. If you are using a recent version of cMap, Circled or Gridder, there is a POT file, so you also have the option of translating it with Poedit or Say What?.The
Categories:
string fromgetCategoryBlock()
can be translated with Say What? or using Transifex.Hope that helps!

ParticipantThank you. That helps indeed!
What about the word ‘Uncategorized’ in the dropdown? Is poedit needed for that? I have tried searching for str_un* og str_cat* in my files but didn’t find anything. Maybe the string is called something else?

ParticipantAnd these?
Entries not assigned to a category will automatically be assigned to
this category and deleting a category which has been assigned to an
entry will reassign that entry to this category. This category can not
be edited or deleted.You are searching within category(ies): Uncategorized

If Connections was not installed with your language or available in your language then
Uncategorized
was saved to the db in English. The only way to change that is to edit it in the db using phpMyAdmin or similar tool.04/08/2015 at 3:57 pm #330991Anders
ParticipantHi Steven
Connections is installed with Danish settings. There are just so, so many mistakes / places where the language isn’t translated.
1) Fine, I’ll change the wording in the db. No problem. Thanks!
2) What about the search messages. How to change them?Sorry to keep at it, but I can’t figure out how to find out where these words can be changed. Is there any way for me to know these things?

Nearly everything can be changed in Transifex. The exceptions and template specific string (each template has a few) and extension specific string (each extension has a few). First check to see if it is a string in Transifex, if it is not there, then It is likely a template/extension specific string.
My suggestion is translate the strings there and follow the instructions in the FAQ/ at the bottom of the page to pull down the update POT file for Poedit. That’ll really make this easier on you, that’s why I keep pointing you to the link.

All can be fixed in Transifex.
