ParticipantHere is my site, which we have just started to set up:
http://www.battererintervention.org/membership/We have 4 directory entries right now. We have set up categories for Status (Provider or Researcher) and World Region (location).
When I use the category popup and choose a Status type of Researcher it shows two of the members, but not the third (Kenneth Corvo) one that is also designated as Researcher. This entry shows up OK in the original list (the complete directory) but not when I search. I have double-checked this entry and it appears to be OK – it is public, and has the Researcher category checked.
Can you think of any reason why this entry is not being pulled up in the category search?
I am including a screen capture of the Manage section of the dashboard with the information showing this entry with the proper category checked off.

ParticipantOne more thing that I just noticed. When I bring up the Membership page, all 4 of the current members show up. When I use the Category popup and choose Researcher, only 2 of the 3 show up (as mentioned above); then when I use the Category popup and choose All Categories, only 3 of the 4 show up – leaving out that same record for Kenneth Corvo.
So this directory entry shows up using the basic shortcode to display the directory, but not when the Category search is used – whether for a particular category (e.g. Researcher) or for All Categories.
I hope you can give me an idea of what to do – or help me to troubleshoot it.

Yes, I know what the issue is…
The issue is being caused by the theme including an HTML5 “shim” script. See this support forum post which has a working solution.
Hope that helps!

GuestHi Steven –
I understand what you are explaining, and installed the Say What? plugin but it is not working as I would expect.
I manually went into the URL to modify the query string from:
?cn-s=Search&cn-cat=3
to
?cn-cat=3This gives me all 3 entries instead of 2.
However, the Say What? plugin is not substituting this string when I use the Category popup menu. Here is a screenshot of the Say What? text entry:
Do you have any other ideas for how to fix this issue?
And why is this particular directory entry acting differently than the others?Eric

I think my instructions were not clear enough, apologies!
You do not use the query string with Say What?. You would enter
Search
as theOriginal string
and leave theReplacement string
empty.02/11/2014 at 1:34 pm #279837Eric Bobrow
GuestThank you Steven – that worked!
Will this fix the problem for all cases you can think of?
Also, I’m still curious what would be different about the latest directory entry compared to the earlier ones – any idea why it would be excluded and the other ones work OK?
