I fixed your sites … but to do so I had load the CSS files the *_doing_it_wrong* way. I hate to say it, but I do not recommend upgrading Connections moving forward because you will loose those changes.
I believe the root cause is the theme, it has many, many errors in it. You can view them for yourself. I installed a plugin named Blackbox on the http://circlecranch.com site. It is currently de-activated. If you activate it, it’ll show a bar at the top of the screen with one of the sections named Errors with a count. If you click that it’ll show you a list of errors, 80+ of them with about 98% of theme originating from the theme. I’m pointing this out because I thought you would want to know because this will likely cause you problems with other plugins.

GuestThanks. It’s strange that this happened now since Connections has been working on both sites for months. Then it stopped working when I had not even been working on the sites. I’m not sure what I’ll do moving forward since I am committed to using the iThemes Builder system for all my sites. Do you have an opinion on whether the problems may be from the Builder framework or from the child theme “Cubed”?
I really appreciate the effort you’ve put into this. Do you have any themes that you recommend that work best with Connections?

It was working before because on previous versions I was loading the CSS files incorrectly or more accurately, incorrectly for WordPress 3.3 and newer. Not to get too technical, but the on the older versions of WordPress you hooked into an action named wp_print_scripts to load CSS files. On newer versions of WordPress, the proper action is wp_enqueue_scripts.
For some reason wp_enqueue_scripts action is not being run on your site and I believe that might have to do with the theme, but honestly I can not be absolutely certain. What I do know is that when I changed the action name to wp_print_scripts , it worked, and that was the only change I made. I suspect you might run into this with other plugins.
I think most errors were being created by the Builder framework. If it is actively supported, report the errors, I’m sure they’ll correct them as most are minor, but it could be anyone of those minor errors causing the issue.
Connections should work fine with any properly coded theme, so I can really recommend any in particular. Most issues are simple CSS conflicts or the theme loading an older version of jQuery rather than the version bundled with WordPress.
Hope that helps.

GuestThanks, for the reply. That does help and I will let the Builder folks know.
