ParticipantThe old template is at wp-content/connections_templates/cmap.
The instructions do not say to active the default template. Please clarify the steps I need t take to get the new version of cmap loaded properly and working.
Thanks

KeymasterI did mention to activate the default template in my initial reply to you, but I could have made that instruction more clear.
Ok, after you activate the Default Entry Card, the Delete link will show up.
After you click the Delete link, cMap will show up and be available for activation.
Here’s the link to the template installation instructions and how to upgrade, see the yellow tinted box. If you already referred this this, I just revised it to, hopefully, make the instructions a little more clear.

ParticipantThanks for the clarification. I have now got the latest versions of both Connections and the cmap template installed. But the dropdown menu is still not functioning. I have also worked through the plugins and do not find any conflicts with the directory and the plugins we are using.
Any more ideas? I wonder why it stopped working since it was working perfectly and even though we had not made any changes to the site it stopped showing the dropdown selector.

ParticipantI just noticed that when I reload the directory page the dropdown menu does flash on very briefly before disappearing and then the categories show up as a list.

KeymasterOk, now I’m a bit confused … am I still working with Sherry, the original person who submitted this? Or, did she hand this off? I just need to know so I’m looking at the right web sites. Are we tallking about these sites or another?

ParticipantSorry, yes it’s still Sherry but I logged in with my client’s account so I could download the template upgrade. And, yes those are the sites I’m working on.

Got it, thanks for clearing that up … I thought I was helping someone else with a completely different issue … happens all the time, someone else jump in the middle of an activate discussion with a different issue.
Any way, back on topic, lets try and figure this out…
The last thing I said before I thought I was helping someone else was this:
I have never seen this before. This would be caused by the theme not having the wp_head() in the theme’s header.php file. I’ve looked at the page source and there is evidence that this template tag is in the file like it should be, but could you confirm so we can be certain?
Is see that you’re running a pretty much current version of WordPress, so that is not the issue.
I’m afraid you’ll have to deactivate plugin one by one to see if there is a plugin conflict.
So, two things…
Did you check the header.php file for the existence of the wp_head() template tag? I suspect it is there because the JavaScript’s and other plugins CSS files are being included.
Did you deactivate other plugins one by one to see if there is a conflict as I suggested?

GuestYes, I dod both of those things and the correct code is in the header file. And, I checked all of the plug-ins individually.

Well, this is truly puzzling. Like I said the only issue is that the CSS for Connections is not being enqueued as they should be which is curious because the JavaScript files are. For all intents and purposes, nearly the exact same WordPress functions are used. For me to debug this further, I’m going to need a temp admin account and FTP account.

GuestOK, I can do that. How do I send you a private message?
