GuestI am in charge of running a server with multiple sites. I have updated the version of connections today from the more recent version that has been out the past few months. Now none of the images load of staff members that have already been uploaded. Is this going to be addressed or is there an easy fix for the situation?

GuestI revert back to 7.3.1 and the images work again. I am not sure what is causing the issue.

Can you clarify something? Are you running WP as a multi-site?

GuestYes, We use it as a multi-site. I was wondering if that was the problem.

That’s not the problem, per say. I’ve started to build in proper multi-site support. So the new image path would be per blog_id, however, you should to have explicitly turn that on by setting an option in the wp-config.php file. Can you share the link to you directory I would like to see where Connections is trying to load the images from.

GuestImages uploaded with the new plugin seem to be kept in
“wwwroot/wp-content/connection_images/”
Images with the older plugin seem to be uploaded to the blog.dir for the specific blog. The current blog I am using is uploading images to:
“wwwroot/wp-content/blogs.dir/34/connection_images/”
All the images I have ever used for any site seem to be in “wwwroot/wp-content/connection_images/”, but they are not being linked by the new plugin. I saw no “src” for my old images when using the new plugin. It seems the MySQL Database does not know where to find them since directories have been changed from the specific blog to ‘/wp-content/connection_images/’ . I have reverted back to the old plugin since. Do you need me to revert to the new plugin again to check or is this enough info. I am about to leave work but can do it tomorrow.

Ok, that is very helpful. I think think I might have had my logic backwards. Can you install the new version and grant me a temp admin account. I’d like to make a small change in the logic to make sure I got it right for the next update.

GuestAnother David, good name. I looked at your site and that is the same issue I am having. I reverted to version 7.3.1 and that seemed to solve my issue for now, until it can be fixed.
Steven, I am on a work network and so our are servers. I can not grant you access due to privacy policies we have to follow here. Maybe you can take a look at the other David’s issue and see if he is experiencing the same issue. I can email you a link to the site if you would like that but I don’t know how much you can do without admin access.

There are officially too many “Davids” in this forum thread, LOL!
Your issue is actually unrelated to the Connections update. Either the theme or another plugin is loading jQuery 1.9 instead of the version bundled with WordPress. This is going to break plugins and themes because many are not yet compatible with jQuery 1.9. You can check this out by opening this page in Chrome, hitting the F12 key and clicking the Console tab. Those errors are do to jQuery 1.9. As you see this is causing several scripts to fail.
