ParticipantAs always, I would like to say excellent plugin and excellent support!
I did just install the update to see if it would address any of my issues, but unfortunately it did not. The site for this installation is shopburnet.org
So my questions and issues are as follows:
First
I have enabled these options in the Connections dashboard:
Connections/Settings/Configuration
Entry Type (unchecked)
Default Entry Type (Organization)
However, these selections are not being reflected in the forms that new users complete to create a listing.
Second
I’m having moderation issues. No email is sent to the admin when user submitted changes are pending on an already active listing. Then that active listing goes completely dark, not visible on the site at all while in pending status, until approved. Without any notification, that could be some time…
Third
I have a new user role question. In my WP general settings, the new user default role is currently set to contributor. Is it possible to change this to subscriber? Is it possible to have a separate registration for the directory?
Thank you for your help!

ParticipantNow I’m also getting this error
ERROR: Image path /home/shopburnet/public_html/wp-content/uploads/connections-images/cn-id-0/image.jpg does not exist.
And I’m getting listings that run together or return the wrong business.07/06/2015 at 2:45 pm #339619Steven Zahm

re: First
I’ assuming that this question is actually related to Form and not cMap, correct?
First, the page where users can submit entries requires a login, can you give me a temp user account so I can see the issue?
I see you have Form 2.0.2 installed. You should update to the latest, which is 2.2. There has been many updates and fixes. Before debugging the issue further, I’d like to see if latest version corrects the issue.
re: Second
Again, before debugging this further, please update Form. I’m guessing you must have Link installed too, please make sure that is up to date too. The current version is 2.0.3. Actually, while you are at it, you should update cMap too. You have version 4.0 installed while 4.1 is current.
If you are not being notified of updates, please make sure your support license keys on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Licenses tab have been entered.
re: I have a new user role question. In my WP general settings, the new user default role is currently set to contributor. Is it possible to change this to subscriber?
This is a WP settings, not Connections… to change it select Subscriber from the choices and save the changes. If you are unable to save the change, then something else is breaking that for you and it would be impossible for me to know what and how to fix it.
re: Is it possible to have a separate registration for the directory?
Can you elaborate?
re: ERROR: Image path /home/shopburnet/public_html/wp-content/uploads/connections-images/cn-id-0/image.jpg does not exist.
That error is pretty self explaining… If you login via FTP to the site, does the image exists or not? Do you have an entry named cn-id-0? The is a very odd name to give an entry. Is that a test entry of something? If you have an entry named that, is it possible someone manually deleted the image. I suspect that because the other entries seem to be displaying their image and logo fine.

ParticipantThank you Steven, I knew something had to be wrong to not hear back from you! I have attempted to update and am getting errors. I have attached a screenshot. I would also like to give you an admin login. I need an email address to send them to.

Those errors are indicative of an server configuration issue when dealing with unzipping files or perhaps restrictions put in place by the webhost when retrieving files from a remote source.
I suggest downloading them from your purchase history and then manually instlling them.
If you want to send a login, you can use the contact link at the bottom of the page. PLease paste a link to this support thread so I can relate the two. Thanks!

ParticipantOK, thank you, I have manually installed the required updates.
Here are the issues that still remain:
First is the Connections/Settings/Form/Configuration/Entry Type is de-selected so users can NOT select the entry type and the Default Entry Type is set to Organization but the form still defaults to Individual and allows the user to select from the 3 radio button options.
Next is the moderation issue. What I mean by this is that when new users first register and create a listing that is held for moderation, the site admin is not notified by email that a listing is being held for moderation.
While this is mostly an inconvenience that requires the admin to be regularly monitoring the site for new entries, it is a much bigger problem when a user is simply making changes to an existing listing.
What happens in this case is that the listing disappears from the public view completely while the changes are being held for moderation. It would be better if the old listing stayed visible, didn’t display the changes until admin approval, and an admin email was sent out to notify that action is required.
And finally the user role issue. My client uses this plugin to manage a member business directory for a local merchants organization. It is a public site where visitors use the directory to get information about member businesses.
If we set the default WP user role to subscriber, then we have to manually change each business owner to a contributor before they can create a listing. If we set the default WP user role to contributor, then anyone, not just member businesses, can create a directory listing.
Is there a way to create a new user registration (just for the plugin) that is separate from the WP site user registration? I understand that probably requires too much reworking to be practical, but it is something my customer brought up, and I promised that I would ask.
In order of importance, the second issue is creating the biggest problem for the customer. I have created login info for you that is being sent via email. Thank you again for your help.
