The reason for the widget not being aligned is because the theme uses specific CSS styles for its widgets so they will not be properly applied to third-party widgets. You’ll have to edit the theme’s
style.cssfile.Find this:
.footer-area .widget_recent_entries li { border-bottom: 1px solid; padding-bottom: 12px; } .footer-area .widget_recent_entries a { border-bottom: 0; padding-bottom: 0; }Change it to this:
.footer-area .widget_recent_entries li, .footer-area .widget_cnw_upcoming_birthdays li { border-bottom: 1px solid; padding-bottom: 12px; } .footer-area .widget_recent_entries a, .footer-area .widget_cnw_upcoming_birthdays a { border-bottom: 0; padding-bottom: 0; } .footer-area .widget_recent_entries li, .footer-area .widget_cnw_upcoming_birthdays li { border-color: #505152; }Now, the links on the widget seem to work fine. I’m guessing the update to Connections may have addressed that.

Oppps, there is one more change, this needs to be added:
.footer-area .footer-widget-col > ul > li:first-child > span > a { background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; }You don’t need to do any editing now … I saw the theme had a custom CSS area in its options so I added this code. All is good now.
