ParticipantHi. I have a development site that I need to search by State to return directory listings from that state. When I add a State “Colorado” in the search field (without the quote marks), I am only returned a listing that uses the state name in the BIO field – not the listings that use it only in the STATE field. I’ve checked that the STATE field is checked in the search settings, but that’s not what I’m seeing when I test the listings. What can I do to get STATE as a searchable field?

What is the exact shortcode you are using?
Can you share a link to your test directory so I can take a look?

ParticipantHi Steve,
I’m using the search sidebar widget embedded into a page. Maybe I should try a shortcode in its place? The directory listings are protected behind a membership wall, otherwise I’d send you a link to it. Is there a shortcode you’d recommend I use instead of the search widget? If I need to, I can send you a login to the site so you can see the page and how it works.

Ok, try a search now. Should work. All I did was click Save Settings on the Connections : Settings admin page for the Search tab. Seems like for some reason the values were not being read or something. Odd, I’ve never seen that happen before.

ParticipantYes, that did work! I’m not sure why that settings wasn’t set, but thank you for your assistance with fixing this.
