ParticipantSorry – I misspoke when I said “user”. Assume that there is only a single user – me as admin. All of the Connections names are simply homeowners. It sounds like I am doomed. The only way to link the person with their entry is to create ~400 WP users.
I wonder if something like this might do that dirty work for me?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/members-import/Then I could use FORM and LINK to give them full access to their entry in Connections without even logging in. Correct?

Sure, you can use a CSV to import users. This one seems to be rated better though:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/import-users-from-csv-with-meta/I haven’t used either plugin so I can not really recommend one over then other…
re: Then I could use FORM and LINK to give them full access to their entry in Connections without even logging in. Correct?
Not entirely correct. Yes, they would be able to change their entry, but they would have to log in. There has to be some type of validation that the person making changes is permitted to, that is what logging in would provide.

ParticipantSteven, we recently ran into an issue where our members can no longer edit their connections entry. When they login, they are directed to the default WP account update page (name, pass & address) instead of the limited subscriber dashboard that they used to go to. That’s where they saw the “edit your entry” menu item. Now they can’t even get to the dashboard to see that menu. I checked and our link extension is active. Any idea what might be happening??

ParticipantSteven, I just saw that my LINK version is 1.0.5. Does that not update with the rest of my extensions?? Would that cause the issue?

re: When they login, they are directed to the default WP account update page (name, pass & address) instead of the limited subscriber dashboard that they used to go to.
Connections does not do any redirections on login… so there must be another plugin setup configured to do that.
re: Now they can’t even get to the dashboard to see that menu.
Connections does not block access to the admin, like the previous answer, there must be another plugin setup configured to do that. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is also being cause by the plugin doing the redirection.
re: Any idea what might be happening??
I’d suggest double checking the setting of any newly installed plugins or plugins that received updates.
You said, “Now they can’t even get to the dashboard to see that menu.“… Are they any error message or such? Without more details I do not really have any more guesses.
re: I just saw that my LINK version is 1.0.5. Does that not update with the rest of my extensions?? Would that cause the issue?
The in admin updates feature was not introduced until version 2.0 of Link. You can download the latest version from your purchase history and manually update. To do this deactivate and delete the old version then install the new version. After you install it and activate it, go to the Connections : Settings admin page, Licenses tab and input your support license key. After you do that, when updates are released, you will get them in your WP admin like other plugins.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantGreetings Steven! Ok, I’ve updated the version and license of all Connections plugins. When I attempt to login to a member’s account it takes me to a basic member info page. I’ve even tried pasting the Link URL: https://www.wbccc.org/wp-admin/users.php?page=connections_link and it takes me right back to the “may account” page at https://www.wbccc.org/my-account. As far as I know I don’t have any re-direct plugins running. However, when I had one running before, it just directed them right to the Link profile update dashboard just fine. I’m kind of at a loss. :)
Thanks for any insight you can give.

Well, I can tell you that Connections does not have any redirection features built in so it must be another plugin that is configured to redirect to the My Account page. Perhaps you have a plugin installed to removes access to the admin and is setup to redirect to the My Account page. Not sure how much this answer helps, but I hope it does.

ParticipantI had a plugin that did a simple redirect to https://www.wbccc.org/wp-admin/users.php?page=connections_link so it would take users right to their profile page. I also had a plugin that would let me tweak the permissions/capabilities of various user groups.
I’ve deactivated both plugins and I still can’t get to the page=connections_link while logged in as a subscriber (basic site member). I can view that page and update my entry when I’m logged in as an admin. I’m sorry, I’m just at a loss as to why it’s not working now. :/

Participantthis is what I have set for subscriber in the connections:roles. Am I missing something, they should have the ability to edit their entry right?

From the screenshot you really should not give the subscriber the view dashboard and view list capabilities. With that, any subscriber could edit any entry.
As far as your redirect issue… that I’m sorry to say, that is impossible for me to answer since Connections does not do any redirecting. If you are logged in as a subscriber user and you enter this URL:
https://www.wbccc.org/wp-admin/users.php?page=connections_link
and you are redirected to:
https://www.wbccc.org/my-account
That is being done by something other than Connections.
If you give me an admin and subscriber user account, I’ll take a quick look.
