    Ok, so what exactly is the trouble… can they not edit after the first login? Or can they not edit after subquestal logins?

    I reread one of your initial replies which I believe answers my question… but I am not sure I understand? Maybe if you reply back with a step by step of the process of a user logging in with a description of what is seen or not seen and what is expected that would help. Screenshots would help too.

    a user can log in through the active directory, create a record and on subsequent logins, they can view and edit that record. that is great.

    However, I have created hundreds of records. I would like for users to log in and be able to edit the record I created for them. The emails will match their user email. Currently, a user that has a record that I created can log in and they will be given the option to create a new record. They will not be connected with the record that I created.

    Ok, those hundreds of entries that you created have email addresses added to them that match their login, correct. I’m pretty certain the answer is yes based on this reply. But I want to double check to make sure we are on the exact same page.

    On the first login of one of these hundred of users, they have the option to create a new entry vs. editing the existing entry. What happens if that user, logs out and back in without creating a new entry (that’s important)?

    they still get the option to add a new entry. They do not connect with the one I created.

    Ok, I think this does make sense. The method you are using to allow AD logins is preempting the WordPress user login validation. I suppose it would have to do this in order to work. Since the code that runs in Link is tied to the WordPress user authentication, it is never run so the user is never linked.

    I assume this is a plugin you are using to add AD integration, yes? Which one? I would think this is a bug in their code… they should still make sure core WordPress filters/actions are run during their login validation process so they do not break other plugins.

    If you can let me know the plugin you are running for AD integration, perhaps I can add a shim to Link that can trigger the linking of the user and entry during their user validation process.

    I am not able to see the plug in for AD. I don’t have those permissions. I am trying to reach out to the admins. I will let you know as soon as I know. Thank you so much for your help!

    Well, if has been modified… I’ll need a copy of the modified plugin. It really does not do us any good for me to look into code which is not in use.

    I suppose you could ask your tech team if their code properly fires the wp_login actin passing the expected values. It they can not or unwilling to share their modified plugin. It is that hook which Link runs on to perform the function to link the WP user to the Connections entry.
