ParticipantHi Steven,
We are still having the issue.
If you go in as a new registrant and create a profile all is good. If you go in again to edit the profile all is not good as it pulls a blank profile.
“Connections : Add My Directory Entry” as if it does not recognize user already having profile, previous entries don’t show?We tried to use the nav text “Edit Directory Profile” as you will see once you sign in then out, then in again. Btm. line user are unable to edit the directory listings.

I’m not able to replicate this issue on the site using my test user account shazahm1. When I make an edit, it gives me the message saying my edit is awaiting moderation and allows me to make further edits as it should while still staying in the in the mod queue, as it should. I am able to edit this entry as much as I wish and it is still linked.
Are there specific users that I can test to see this issue? And, may I install user switcher so I can switch to their accounts?

ParticipantYes please install user switcher.
I set up George this morning, when I log in under that user here: http://directory.thefourwinds.com/login/, I get the 9.35.01 screenshot below. When I choose Edit exiting Directory profile from that screes I get “Add My Directory Entry” with no entries as seen on second screen shot 9.37.03 Which holds none of my previously entered data?
Files sent by email….

Just tried it w/ george too and it worked. I used the bild new profile page w/ Form and then went to the edit page and it was linked as expected. I was able to edit the entry further w/o losing the link.
Question, when you’re testing, are you adding an email address? You need to add the email address, that is what Link uses to create a match. That’s the only thing I can think of why it would not being working for you. The next version of Form will really improve the workflow for you because it’ll support front end editing if you have link installed. It’ll be release along w/ the next version of Connections within the next two months.

ParticipantI was not adding email into new profile build when testing…
… So when building a new profile an email address is required to link the profile to the account set up for future editing etc.
Is there a way to require the email field entry when setting up profile for the first time so this issue never happens? maybe submit should not work unless email is entered?

KeymasterYes, an email is required. You can avoid the trouble by redirecting to the admin directory profile page rather than using Form. The intent with Form is to accept directory submissions from site visitor, not users. This is why you do not see more synergy between Link and Form, they were designed for two different distinct purposes. Many other users are doing what your doing which is why the next update to Form will be Link aware and allow adding/editing of a users entry using Form in the frontend rather than having to visit the admin page. Right now, the only way to make Form require an email is to edit it so an email field is ready to to accept input without having to click the add button.
