GuestHi,
I’m creating a site that will possibly have categories that go 6 sub-categories deep.
I also need an advanced search that will include these 6 sub-categories or other types of advanced search options.
Can a business pay to have their listing pop up at the top of an advanced search?
Does this plug-in support these types of functionality?

Because categories are going to run deep, cMap will likely be the best choice. The category drop down has a search feature so it’ll allow the user to filter to the correct category pretty quickly.
Right now, there not a way to promote/feature specific entries, sorry.

GuestOkay- Thanks.
So currently the only way to search is by a single menu with all categories and subcategories listed in say a drop-down menu? I will have probably 20-30 categories plus 6 sub categories for each of those. I need an search with separate choices for each cat and subcat- does cMap have this?

Sorry, no it doesn’t. None of the templates do. I’m not sure how you would present so many choices to a user without overwhelming them, that 180 choices. How do you envision presenting that to a user and how would all the choices influence the results?

GuestThis is a huge project- the site would be used by classic car collectors who need parts for their cars. They would search year, make, model, interior, exterior, used, new, replica, to get to the part they are looking for and the businesses who have it. And possibly by area. With paid listings popping up at the top. Whew!
I was thinking a business directory would work for this- but then I’m also playing around with possibly using a cart that is modified to list businesses instead of products.
Any ideas or thoughts on this?
Thanks again!

Ahhh, I see. Connections *could* do this, but there is nothing out of box to accomplish that at this time, sorry. Even so, not sure a business directory would be a good fit for a parts lookup. I would think you almost need some custom.
