You have two options, the Market template which has a category sidebar as part of the template. This sidebar will be limited to the page the template is on. The other option is the Widget Pack. It has a category widget that can be added to the theme’s sidebar so the categories will be accessible throughout the site. Which is better depends on your intended usage.

The first message. Please set it now on the Connections : Settings page under the General tab. After you do that, it will be removed.

The second message. Please try deactivating and reactivating Connections. If it does not get removed, you’ll have to login to your site via FTP and manually add the folder.

The third message. Make sure the folder: ../wp-content/plugins/connections/cache is has write permissions. Typically this is 0755, but on very rare cases you do need to bump that up to 0767.

Let’s see….

1.) Yes, but that would require the creation of a custom template. Or maybe Tile Plus would be the best suited to your requirements.
2.) Several of the premium templates do paginate the list. For example cMap, Market and Tile Plus.
3.) Currently not. I am actually currently working on this very feature. It’ll be introduced to the admin in the next release happening any day now. Once I’m satified it is working for everyone in the admin, the premium templates will be updated to include this new functionality. ETA for that is undetermined as of yet, but I’m shooting for March/April.
4.) This is not built in to the Widget Pack, but there are other plugins that can this type of widget management.

You can use Link to allow users to add and maintain their data, but that would require user accounts for each. But, that doesn’t seem to be an option per your requirements. If you want this, you may have to reconsider user accounts because that is the only way to allow users to maintain their own info. Because WordPress already has robust support for user management, this will not be built-in to Connections for user editing. I rather leverage the existing system.

Ok, I think I am somewhat certain no questions were asked of me from him. At any rate…

It is a little difficult to know if these solutions will meet your needs. From a high level, yes, Connections with cMap and Link does allow a user to filter thru, save and update. But, really, the details that will define if Connections is a fit or not. If you can let me know more specific questions, I will of course, do my best to answer them.

No, at this time, Connections does not use the Media Library.
