Currently the only “Dates” supported by cMap are the anniversary and birthday dates. If those are not showing it could be a typo in the shortcode. Here’s a link to a QuickTip, Working with Shortcodes, that could help.

If you need other date types to show, and you’re comfortable with making a minor edit to the template PHP file, I can provide you direction on how to do that.

Similarly, adding “Deadline” to the list of choices you will need to make a edit to a core Connections file.

Yes, you can use the category shortcode option to show only the specified category and its descendants.

I think the Widget Pack is exactly what you’re looking for. It has both a search widget for Connections and a Category list widget.

Hmmm, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that in you custom template page you could include CSS to override the background.

There is the order_by shortcode option. Maybe you can use one of the available sort fields to order them the way you want.

The Slim template sounds like the closest match for display. With a minor CSS change you could hide the image place holder.
