Apologies, I did not notice the new post in this support thread.

I do not have a definitive eta. The only items left on my checklist are auto-completion of tags when entering them into the tag field, integration for the Form addon, and search. I am presently working on stubbing out the advanced search features into the core Connections plugin so they can be rolled out in some fashion (undecided at this time) into the existing templates that enable search.

As mentioned in my last reply, you can uncomment the code to enable tags support now. The core code is unlikely to change much, if at all, as the core categories feature already utilizes the same code that enables tag support.

Please open the cMap Template Customizer, click the back arrow in the upper left and then click the Style panel. Here you can change the color of the name, so it looks more like a link.

Here’s the link to the doc that explains how to open the template customizer:

    I hope this helps1

RE: I’m using the shortcode for the Upcoming List to show birthdays on the Frontend. Is that still the same thing?

Apologies! The wording sounded like you were using the Upcoming List Widget, not the shortcode.

The shortcode does not have an option to enable link support for the default templates used to display the anniversaries/birthdays. I’ve added this to my feature request list.

RE: I would have but I didn’t think this was a support question.

Apologies. I should clarify, all requests should be sent through the support ticket system as that is how all requests, support or otherwise, are managed/tracked.

I hope I have thoroughly answered your concerns/questions!

Edit the widget, enable the “Link to Entry?” option, and save the change.

    I hope this helps.

ps. For support, please open a support ticket https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/connections/ as the support forum is closed. Thanks!

The label can be changed by following the following tutorial:

    https://connections-pro.com/quicktip-easy-text-changing/

If you do not want the heading to display, the size is defined by the theme; CSS can be used to hide the heading.

    I hope this helps.

ps. The support forums are closed. Would you please open a support ticket if you require further assistance with Connections? Thanks!

This year, I have implemented a custom taxonomy API (categories, tags, etc.) in Connections. Tag support is built-in now. It is, however, still commented out in the code (disabled).

If you wish, you can uncomment the code in the ../wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/Taxonomy/Register.php file:

    https://github.com/Connections-Business-Directory/Connections/blob/10.4.7/includes/Taxonomy/Register.php#L63-L87

There is still minor work around the user experience when adding/editing tags when managing a directory entry.

I suggest repurposing the “Notes” field to a “tags field for searching. Enter the “tags” that you want the entry to return as a result for into the field and configure the template not to display the notes.

    I hope this helps!

What do you see when you activate the template on the Connections Templates admin page?

Here’s a link to instructions on how to display your directory:

The short version is to add [connections] to the page you wish to embed the directory and publish it. Ensure the publish page is set as the Directory Homepage on the Connections Settings admin page under the General tab.

To use the Slim Plus template to display the directory, install the zip file as a new Plugin, activate the plugin, navigate to the Connections Templates admin page, and click the Activate button for Slim Plus.

    I hope this helps!

PS. The support forums are closed you should submit support tickets instead:

Sorry, I am not exactly sure what overrides you are referring to. Here are a couple of links that might help.
