ParticipantWhen I try to use Alphaindex shortcode it leads me to the wrong URL. For instance, if I want to go to H, I should click on H and it should go to this working URL:
http://www.nsseo.org/staff-directory/char/H/
but it puts a “-directory” at the end of the url, leading me to a 404 page so it looks like this:
http://www.nsseo.org/staff-directory/char/H/-directory
It does that with all the letters. Can I edit this to point the letters in the right URL without the “-directory” at the end?

This is not being done by Connections. It is being added by a javascript file included with the theme. Temporarily disable javascript in your browser. You’ll notice the links are fine. Now re-enable javascript.
The file in the theme causing this is named
directory_script.js
and can be found here:
http://www.nsseo.org/wp-content/themes/Sterling/directory_script.jsIt seems this script specifically targets Connections and its links. Its kind of neat to see a theme target Connections but it is confusing why they would append
-directory
to the character index links. You’ll have to remove this file to keep the theme from loading it. You should also contact the theme’s dev because this seems to be a bug to me in their theme.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantThanks for your prompt reply. It’s an old, un-updated theme, that we are going to update soon. I removed the part of the code that wanted to go to “-directory” and it works as great now. Many thanks from everyone here at NSSEO!
