ParticipantI have a search box on my homepage which i think is the standard wordpress search. When i search using this box it does not include the entries i have in my connections directory and i need it to !!
For example if someone puts in plumber into the search box i need it to display plumbers from my directory.
Any ideas or advice would be awesome. My site url is http://www.communitycontact.co.uk

Sorry, but Connections does not integrate with the default WordPress search. Premium templates such as cMap, which you have installed does have search. If you need search outside of the template, there is the Widget Pack. It has a search widget that can be placed in the theme’s sidebar.
I hope that helps.

ParticipantI already have this widget pack. Will it also search all of the other articles on my site. Should i replace my search bar with this widget.

No, the search input for Connection will not search the article index. Most users put the widget in their sidebar with a title something similar “Search Directory”.

GuestBut there must be a way to include Connections in the WordPress search.
Even if I add the Connections-specific search bar somewhere on the site, still it doesn’t make any sense that the general search won’t return any results from Connections.
What should the search bar say on the top of the page?
Users don’t know and don’t care about how WordPress custom post types work.
A Connections search bar intuitively means only look through the Connections entries but a regular search bar means look through everything on the site.
Wordpress Custom Post types Categories are very annoying. They should consider changing this. But for the developers of the Connections plugin, it should be possible to support that feature and deal with this weird WordPress limitation.
Please let me know whatever can be done about this :(
Thank you
