ParticipantHello,
Having a issue with the widget links not using the correct URLs.
Example:
Aaron Welsh detail page with correct information:
http://intranet.vselect.com/?page_id=39&cn-entry-slug=aaron-welsh&cn-view=detailWidget URL for Aaron Welsh (in all widgets)
http://intranet.vselect.com/?page_id=8&cn-entry-slug=aaron-welsh&cn-view=detailThe second one the page does not exist. Every name URL in the widgets (anniversary, birthday, upcomming etc) all use this page_id8 for the url.
Ideas? The site is internal.

Sounds like you need to set the Directory Home Page to page 39 on the Connections : Settings admin page under the General tab.
Let me know if that fixes it.

Participantpage 39 is the detail for this person?, or does it just search via that page and display result?

Participantanswered my own question. yes this works. 1 more minor thing… when selecting person from one of the widgets it does display the correct page now but, it also adds them to the recently added widget, when they were not recently added. but only on http://intranet.vselect.com/?page_id=39&cn-entry-slug=william-werner&cn-view=detail page 39. the home page still displays the proper list

Participantwell i said it works, but,
On the directory page id39 it shows the correct url for the widgets, but once i look at the url on the home page, the widget shows 1124 as the url

Which version of the Widget Pack do you have installed? What is page 1124 in relation to the other 39. I’;m sure it it must not be coming out of nowhere.

ParticipantSteven,
Where can i find the widget version number? 39 is the directory page and 1124 is a post.

On the Plugins admin page.
Is that just some random post or is it in someway connected to your directory? Are the widgets placed in an actual sidebar, meaning, are you using a plugin that lets you use a widget in a post?

ParticipantSteven,
Widget version is 1.2
The post is the only post (we are going live hopefully next week with the intranet) in wordpress right now. It is test post.
The theme being used is Twenty Fourteen and the widgets are in the primary sidebar.

Hmmm, 1.2 is the latest. It’s really odd that it is picking up a post ID. Actually it should not be possible. The core logic that Connections uses is it’ll use the current page’s ID or the directory home page ID, which, depends on context.
My best guess is that a plugin is messing with the core WP post query object which is causing the incorrect page ID to be returned from WordPress when Connections asks for it.
So the first thing to try is deactivating all plugins bu Connections and its extensions to see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t then it is one of the deactivated plugins. You’ll have to activate one at a time until the issue returns to identify which one.
To eliminate the theme … is that the standard TwentyFourteen theme? No changes or is it a child theme with changes?
