ParticipantIs there a way we can hide the add my directory and not the view my directory? I understand that the profile is tied to only 1 user and if you have multiple users from that organization what would stop them from adding it again.
ie. I am Jason from ABC company but Janet from ABC company manages my listing. I would have the ability to Add My Directory even thought my company is already present in the Directory.
Maybe i’m over thinking it, however.. the challenge is having multiple individuals from the same organizations being able to link them to the same company. Any thoughts?

KeymasterRE: having multiple individuals from the same organizations being able to link them to the same company. Any thoughts?
Sorry, this is not possible as it is a one-2-one relationship between a WP User and Connections entry. Add a many-2-one relationship would cause plenty of trouble troubles.
The ABC company should have the own user account, and so should Jason and Janet. The personing managing ABC company would in effect have two account to manage.
RE: Is there a way we can hide the add my directory and not the view my directory?
Sorry, no, because the link is dynamic based on whether the current user has a linked entry or not.
Not sure this helps, but I hope it does!

ParticipantSteve,
You are amazing with the quick responses. Thank YOU!
I used your tutorial that is on this site I believe that detects weather the user is the owner of the listing and it shows View My Directory or Add my Listing. I also have a menu item that is using http://%entry_view_url%.
What my clients wants is the ability to edit and not add. Is that possible? Again, back to Jason and Janet at ABC company. Jason logs in and simply sees View All and View all categories. Janet on the other hand sees View All, Edit My Listing, and View All Categories. Jason should not be able to add a new business. At least that is how we would like it. Heck, Janet should not be able to add either, just edit.
The Association is a paid directory, so we don’t want just anyone adding listings. If that makes any sense?
Thanks
Jason

Navigate to the Connections : Roles admin page. Scroll to the user role assigned to your WP Users and remove the Add Entry capability.

Assign the users to different roles and assign the Connections capabilities according to whether or not you want that user to be able to add or edit.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantSteve,
Thank you that did help.
I created a role with connections_manage activated. The only caveat is that I have to figure out who the editor is and assign each one to the role is that also correct or is there a magic button that will put them each in that role?
Thanks again!

Sorry, I do not follow … not sure how Connections is to “know” who is to be an editor.
