Hi Steve,

I have just updated to Connections Pro Ver 8.4. The update went well.

However when I went to check out the new Customize Template feature I can not find a Customize Button for the Current Template (Slim Plus).

This Template has been customized by me from the standard some time ago.

The other ‘Available’ Templates DO have the customize button next to the Activate Button.

I have attached a screenshot below.

Should I be seeing the Customize Button on a non standard Template?

The templates need updated in order to support the new Template Customizer. Presently the only template that does is the Default Entry Card template that comes with Connections.

I will be working on updating and releasing the premium templates in the coming weeks starting with cMap scheduled to be released early next week.

You said you customized the Slim Plus template… if you have, you may not want to update because what ever changes you have made, they will be lost unless you’ve used the template file override features to make the changes. In that case, that changes would be safe but there may be no way to take full advantage of the Template Customizer as some settings and options may not have any effect due to the use of a template override file.

What changes did you make and how? Once I know that, I’ll be able to better explain what you can expect with this new feature.

Thanks for your response and explanation. That is good. I was just interested in having a look at the Customizer upgrade which looks really handy.

Probably I will leave the specific site alone where I have made changes to the SlimPlus Template (cannot remember exactly what changes I did!) but will look to use the Customizer for future sites where I use Connections Pro.

Gotta say that Connections Pro has morphed into a very powerful and very flexible product due to your hard work constantly improving the product. Well done and thanks!

The default template that comes with Connections supports the new Template Customizer, so you could play with that. The experience will be very similar with all templates. Actually the only difference will be the options available which will vary from template to template.
