ParticipantI have Connections, Link and Form installed.
I have a user that has added her entry, and it appears in the directory listing.
But this user is not able to edit her entry.I am using this shortcode:
[connections_link_view text_add="Add My Teacher Directory Card" text_view=""]
[connections_link_edit text="Edit My Teacher Directory Card"]After adding her entry, [connections_link_edit text="Edit My Teacher Directory Card"] is not appearing as a link to edit. But rather the [connections_link_view text_add="Add My Teacher Directory Card" text_view=""] does appear.
Why is the Edit link not visible?

re: Why is the Edit link not visible?
Well, the answer is, the user and the entry are not linked. What we need to figure out is why.
Was the user logged in when they added their entry? If the user was logged in, how did they log in? Using the Login extension, the core WordPress login page or a third party login plugin? If it was thru a third part login, which one?
Does the user’s email match the email address in the Connections entry?
On the Connections :: Manage admin page, does the entry show as linked to the user account?
Do you have any membership type plugins installed? If you do, which one.

ParticipantThe was logged in and added their entry under their login account. The user was logged in using the core WordPress login.
The emails match.
On Connections:Manage page the entry does not show as linked to the user account.
I do not have membership plugins installed.
With that info, can you narrow down why this happens? and how I can fix it?

What happens when you delete the entry and have the user re-add it using the Add My Teacher Directory Card link?

ParticipantIt consistently does the same thing after I delete the entry and the user re-adds.

Ok, then I’ll need a temp admin account to take a closer look. The login details can be posted here as a private reply.

I dug into this. My guess is that the user account somehow became linked to a non-existing entry so it would no longer link to any other entry — which is exactly what you want normally.
Stuff I did to diagnose.
Installed the following plugins
- User Switching
- User Meta Display
Added a new Code Snippet to support linking when using the User Switching plugin.
This allowed me to remove the user meta which was linking the user account to a non-existing entry.
Once that was done, I could use User Switching to switch to the user to verify the it linked correctly, which it did.I’ve left these excellent tools installed for your use. You can delete safely if you wish.
Apologies for the trouble.
ps. Delete the user account and adding it again would have resolved the issue too.
