ParticipantHi,
I must have deleted or renamed the Uncategorized Category and recreated it at some stage so my Uncategorized Category has an ID=8 and I don’t have an ID=1 for any other Category
Will this become a problem for me later?
Thanks Roland

Sorry, I do not have a real answer than maybe or maybe not. I’ve never tested what the effects would be. Not sure how some are even able to delete it because is prevented in the code.

ParticipantHi Steven
I am willing to uninstall and then re-install the entire product in necessary, and if that will make sure I don’t have issues in the future.
Is it possible to backup and re-install the Connections Plugin? will I loose Data or can I backup up the data first.
I guess another way would be for me to go the Table concerned and add the Uncategorized Category with andan ID=1
I am planning to grow the directory very significantly during the coming holidays which is why I am doing my homework now.
kind regards

ParticipantActually I can see one small problem with Uncategorized = ID 8
Notice in the sidebar in the Categories Widget – I have a few Uncategorized entries listed, but there are no Approved listings in that category.
So what is happening (I think) is that the Widgit is picking up Unapproved Listing which are in Ungategorized category
I guess you would have written code to avoid showing “unapproved uncategorised” listings – so these would not normally show up with ID=1

No, the category count does not take into account approved/non-approved, just all entries assigned. Creating a dynamic entry count assigned to categories. Now that Connections has some very good built in caching support (added in 8.1) I can start going thru the code and adding it so intensive things like dynamic categories can be done with very minimal performance impact.

I do recommend editing the table for ID1, changing it back to Uncategorized then add the category it was renamed to and then assign the entries to the newly added category.
Actually, I think you should be able to the ID1 category using the Connections : Categories admin page.
Hope that helps!
