ParticipantMy imports are going in the uncategorized section. How can I designate which section it goes to before I import?
Thanks,

ParticipantWhen I am importing my csv file, couldn’t I designate it to a category before importing?
Is placing the data into a category only possible after it is imported?

ParticipantSorry I do not mean to waste your time before sending a question to support, so I should have mentioned that of course I read the FAQ prior to sending a Support Question.
I have attached a screen shot, when I follow the Instructions
For the Single quote mark ( ‘ ) before and after ‘Columns’ I tried both a double and a single. Since A leading single quote (apostrophe) is a “code” character used to designate the cell content as Text, It isn’t recognized in excel as a literal character, therefore I put a two inputs of (‘) so that one may appear in the cell. This didn’t solve the issue. Then I attempted the double quote mark. Also negative.
Do you have a instructional trouble shoot video or screen shot? I have to mention again that I have no errors uploading the CSV files, it just goes into uncategorized.

Remove all the quotes in the cells… they will “break” the resulting CSV file. Also, I highly recommend using LibreOffice instead because Excel can really mangle simple CSV files.

ParticipantThe CSV fields must be enclosed by single or double quotes
Just put the quotes for the Category fields?

ParticipantHi Steve,
I have tried many different attempts to get the category imported.
Downloaded Libra office (once it saves csv it goes to excel)
This is what I attempted.
I hovered my mouse on the category section in my Categories Dashboard it had
” Almond” (Notice the space after the first quote?)
So I tried the following in my csv file,
” Category”
“Category”
And under each of these I tried every distinct scenario such asAlmond
“Almond”
” Almond”
In every case, It was imported under “uncategorized”.
Could it be my theme? Could it be before I click Import I leave the “Fields delimited by” and “Fields enclosed by” to the standard default?
Can you please give me a screen shot?
