GuestI’m getting the following error:
NOTICE: The Connections directory home page has not been set. Please set it now on the Connections : Settings page under the General tab.
After reading some of the forum, I deleted the plugin folder and did a fresh install via WP plugin update. I’m still getting the error.
In addition, there is no Connections tab in the left nav.
Please advise.

When I’ve come across this before, the cause was always another plugin knocking the Connections menu off. The solution is usually finding the offending plugin and by deactivating one at a time until the menu items come back.
Alternatively, you can install the Toolbar extension for Connections. it’ll add the menu items to the admin bar.
I hope that helps.

GuestHi Steven,
The toolbar is convenient, however, that is still not fixing the permissions issue that I’m also running into. I also haven’t installed any new plugins. Can you advise further?

What is the permissions issue you’re experiencing.

GuestI’m getting this error when trying to go to the settings section:
“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

GuestI am having this same issue where the connection tab is not showing on the admin side and when I click on the setting section to change the home directory I get “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

I’m going to need a temp admin account in order to see why you are receiving this message. Please use the contact link at the bottom of the page to send the login details.
Thanks.

It’s fixed.
Question … do you know hat brought about this error? Were you running an older version of Connections and this error occurred after you updated to the latest?
With this happening to Eric, yourself and one other … makes me wonder why is this happening all the sudden … something is deleting the capabilities Connections extends to the WordPress roles.

GuestI’m not sure. I had an issue with Timely, and they had to repair the database. Perhaps their “fix” actually broke the Connections plugin? Although I’m not sure I’d have that in common with the other folks.
