ParticipantHello
I am having problem to import CSV file data.
The issue is very strange because all data(300+ records) are successfully mapped when it’s uploaded, but only first 38 records are imported…. No error messages appeared.
Initially I thought the 39th record is something wrong, so I removed the imported 38 records and tried to import the file again. Then another first 38 records are imported…
Is there any record number limitation to import one time? Or do you have any idea why it happens? It would be great if you can advise. Thank you.

My guess is that you’re using an older version of the CSV Import extension. You should update the CSV Import extension. Old versions of CSV Import used a form to import the entries. Newer versions of PHP limit the number of form fields that can be submitted at one time. I think the default is 1000 and anything above that 1000 is discarded. PHP implemented this as a security measure. Now I bet you might be thinking but I can only import 38, not 1000. Well, each entry requires n-number of form fields. That n-number really depends on what is being imported for each entry.
I couldn’t find a purchase records for the CSV Import with the email address on your user account. Did you purchase it with another email address? If you did, you’ll need to login to that account so you can download the update from your purchase history. If you want, I should be able to transfer all purchases to this account, I just need the other email address to do so.
Hope that helps!

ParticipantHi Steven,
Thank you for your reply.
Well, each entry requires n-number of form fields. That n-number
really depends on what is being imported for each entry.Sorry I don’t get what n-number means. Do you mean that each record needs to have a sequential number column to identify each entry (record)?
This is example record on the csv file which I tried to import. Do you find any problem with the columns?
header :
“Comapny Name EN”,”Comapny Name JP”,”Full Company Name”,”Business
Category”,”Address”,”City”,”State”,”ZIP”,”TEL”,”FAX”,”URL”sample record :
“ABC CONSULTING GROUP, INC.”,”ABC コンサルティング グループ”,”ABC CONSULTING GROUP,
INC. | ABC コンサルティング グループ”,”HR Services”,”999 Beach Road Golden Mile complex”,”Singapore”,”SG”,”199877″,”604-111-2222″,”604-111-2222″,”www.abc-consulting.com”Regarding CSV import extention purchase history, I’ll check with my developer to figure out who bought it.
Thanks,

What I mean by n-number is n is some unknown number, to me. It really depends on what is being imported. From what you listed above. It looks like you’re importing twelve fields. So that n-number will be twelve plus hidden fields per entry. In you case, my guess is about 25 fields per entry are being used which equates to about 1000 total fields used when importing 38 entries.
The solution is to update the CSV Import you’re using to the current version which is not limited to PHP form field input limitation.
Does that better help explain it?

ParticipantI had problems with the actual version too, as long as I set my WordPress to german. If I set up it to english, there are no problems …

ParticipantMy WordPress is set to german and the first time I tried to import addresses, I had many problems of p.e. missing fields/data. I did set wordpress to english and the import-problems are gone.

Could I get a copy of your source CSV file so I can use it to see if I can duplicate the issue?
