ParticipantHi Steven,
In my multiple-category-search, I would like to give people the choice to
- search with zipcode, with the outputlist ordered by distance
- make a selection of 2 categories, with the output ordered randomly
The order is set on the page I selected in “Settings admin”. So there is only one way to order the results.
Is there a way to use different page, then set in “Settings admin” for second way to order?

Search is not affected by the defined order. The result are scored by the database and presented in the order the database decides based on those scores. The possible exception is if you are using the Custom Entry Order addon. Maybe this is the “Settings admin” you are referring to??? Then the results will be sorted according to the defined entry order, followed by the defined sort order.
I guess this is the long way of saying there is not a way to defined the separation ordering you’re asking for. Sorry.

ParticipantHi Steven,
With Connections/Settings/admin I mean the default page where I use the [connections] shortcode, set in Connections/Settings/Admin.
This page is used for the result of cn_multi_category_search. There is really a difference in order if I use:
[connections category=61 order_by="first_name"] or
[connections category=61 order_by="date_added"]
on this (result)page.I would like to use a different output-order for:
[cn_multi_category_search category=”62|Alle
mantelzorgmakelaars|Selecteer|Search Results: %s”
placeholder_zip=”9999XX” radius_unit=”km” radius_options=”50:50 km”][cn_multi_category_search category=”62|Alle
mantelzorgmakelaars|Selecteer|geregistreerd %s||%s,65||Selecteer
provincie|werkgebied %s” enable_zipcode=false ]but they use the same page for their results (because this page is set in Connections/Settings/Admin).

If I understand correctly, you should be able to use the home_id shortcode option to *point” the two searches to the two different directory pages.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantHi Steven,
The results of:
[cn_multi_category_search category=”62|Alle mantelzorgmakelaars|Selecteer|geregistreerd %s||%s,65||Selecteer provincie|werkgebied %s” enable_zipcode=false home_id=”2337″]
do not show on page with id 2337.
They show on the page that was set in Connections/Settings/General02/23/2019 at 11:25 am #485498Steven Zahm

Please remove the quotes.
I just double checked the code… I forget you also need to add
force_home=FALSE
to the shortcode. I think that should do the trick.02/23/2019 at 11:45 am #485500Janet Barlagen
