Great. I definitely hope your testing proves as successful as mine … if not, let me know and I’ll definitely will continue to search for a resolution.
What I hope to implement is a why to assign “owners” to entries and the owners would be able to modify any entry they own, rather that the entire directory. It is a different concept than Link but can/will work together. I’m not entirely certain how something like that would be accomplished with a cron even though because something/someone would have to define who “owns” which entries. If you have thought on that, I’ll would love the input.
And thanks for your support! If all the items that are planned and being implemented right now … 2014 will be an exceptional year for Connections and its ecosystem of extensions!

Participanti am using wp-members and am having similar issues. users don’t seem to be linking to directory entries, even after the tests suggested. can you help test further or make adjustments?

Have you updated Link to version 1.0.5? I believe I have worked around the issues that are caused by membership plugins. You can download the update from your purchase history. Let me know if this resolves the issue for you.

ParticipantSteven. I found the current link zip but not an update so I got an error that the folder already existed and it kicked out. I went ahead and deleted the link plugin and reinstalled. ok, that much is done. I will try the test you suggest but my simple question is how do you tell if it has worked or that they are linked? What changes?

When you test… you can tell if the account is linked by visiting the “Edit My Directory Entry” admin page will contain the entry contact details rather than being blank.
Hope that helps.
