GuestEverything else seems to be working fine (in fact, I really like this plugin), but when I hit the “Customize” button for the default template, I just get a blank screen… There are a couple of little tweaks I’d like to make to the default template. Any idea about what to look for as the source of the problem?

Two things come to mind… a plugin or theme conflict or a large number of entries on the page.
The easier of the two… how many entries are you listing on the page? If is a larger number, you can try limiting it to only 10 by using the
limit
shortcode option. Here’s an example:[connections limit=10]
Set the limit and then try to Customizer. If it works then the resources allocated on the server for PHP were being exhausted when trying to run the Customizer of a page with lots of entries. Make your desired changes, save and publish them, and then remove the limit.
To determine if it is a theme or plugin conflict, here are links to the two relevant FAQs with more detail.
I hope this helps! Let me know what you find out.

GuestYou know what… never mind and don’t waste your time on this. The Customizer that wasn’t working yesterday? Well, it’s working now. I’ve no idea why (or why it wasn’t working yesterday–and I swear it wasn’t) but have been in this business long enough to know to just accept the fact and move on. Great plugin, by the way, and great support, so I’ll be purchasing a template as soon as my client decides on the one he wants. Then I’ll be porting some funky-looking directories on other clients’ sites to Connections. Thanks!

I would definitely like to look into this. I looked at the sys info. The only thing I can suggest is increasing the PHP max execution limit so see if that is the cause. Just as a test, try setting it to something high like 300.
If that is not it, I would need a copy of the theme so I could see if I could replicate the issue. Alternatively, if you can grant me admin access, I’ll take a closer look.

GuestI think you may have missed my second reply to your suggestions post… The Customizer is (mysteriously) working now. I’m happy. No need to waste any of your time on it. I do have a couple of other minor questions, but I’ll post them separately–and after I’ve had a chance to support you with a purchase!
thanks…08/25/2016 at 3:19 pm #387810Steven Zahm

Yeah, I think we cross posted. You sent your reply as I was drafting mine to send. Anyway, great to hear it works now and thanks for your support!
