ParticipantHi Steven,
The option under Settings > Tab Display > Option …”Submit new entry” is not taking into account your own parameterized submission form. It opens a default submit form.
It is a nice feature, but (at least for me) not usable right now ;)
Cheers

How could it be enhanced to be more useful?

ParticipantIf I was able to enter the submission URL in the Settings menu and the code would redirect to that URL, all customizations/settings work.
Cheers

ParticipantHehe, and here I work in IT as a consultant… not even able to write down proper requirements ;)
Ok, let me try again.
– Most users (all?) have the Form somewhere implemented on their site for people to enter new submissions into the Directory.
– This Form must have a fixed URL
– Create an field to enter this fixed URL Connections Settings menu
– If the option “… submit new entry…” is activated, it already creates a hyperlink to the generic Form
– The modification I suggest is the option to redirect the hyperlink entered in Connections Settings Menu towards the Form people implemented on their site with customizations/parameters set.Hopefully this clarifies it :)

Yes, it does clarify it. My first thought was … good idea. But … what customization/parameters are you setting that after Form? Form, submit link, already has a fixed URL.

ParticipantHi Steven,
LOL now I am confused. Perhaps I missed something in the updates the last half year. Have not worked on the site for quite some time.
I use
[connections_form default_type='organization' select_type='false' logo='false' messenger='false' photo='false' dates='false']
in a page to create a page to enter addresses. In my case the Form is on http://new.mainecoon.nl/wordpress/catteries/cattery-toevoegen
If I turn on the option “… submit new entry…” in the Settings menu the URL is
http://new.mainecoon.nl/wordpress/catteries/submitMy site still used the old way of using the Form. Noticed that I had not turned off the Image setting in the Settings menu.
Besides changed URL the only difference is that the default organization setting is not working. I changed it in the code. That could be the problem.
Hmz… Don’t bother looking further. I will turn this option off. Seems my little changes of the text in the code mess up some bits of the program.
Thanks for your quick replies (as always)!

I see … Form 2.x introduced a new settings page, look on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Form tab. All the shortcode options are now settings which affect both the
/submit/
and the shortcode. Actually, I do not even have documentation for the shortcode up anymore (I removed it) because I’m deprecating its usage. -
